12 ounce bottle poured into a shaker pint. See-thru amber with a short but dense cap of white foam. Good retention and a fair amount of sticky lacing.
The nose features rye and sweet malt in roughly equal strength. Toasty, too. Pleasant but mild. Surprising amount of bitterness given the relative lack of hop flavor; the rye kind of fills in the gaps here. Moderately sweet malts. Bitterness, rye, and that's about it, not too interesting.

Throws down with the red and brown, 1/4" off white head that isn't here for a long time, its here, for a mildly good time. Aroma didn't do anything to make you think 'rye'.
Taste was far from revolutionary, came off more like the status quo for SA, that is, this is Boston Lager with an ale yeast an a smidge of rye. Mild hopping, a little bit of caramel, a smooth drinking affair.

Aroma wasn’t very strong but the rye dominated in the flavor. More a of rye-based ale than a pale ale, the rye doesn’t make it too spicy and a has a good aftertaste to it.

This was the first drain pour I ever had in my life. It was horrible. It was super bready, pretty thick, high carbonation, and tasted as if someone took the whole spice cabinet and stuffed it into a beer bottle. This was horrendous.
