Served in a Sam Adams signature pint glass.
Appearance: pretty dark brown with light bubbles, head is thin I do mean real thin maybe a 1/10" if your lucky.
Smell: believe it or not light hops and brief chocolate.
Taste: Complex with a notch sweet and little bitter. You definitely feel the chocolate with its sweet bitter feel.
Mouth: it doesn't blow up my pallets but it makes you happy, medium carbonation that isnt the sharpest but just right.
Overall: almost more of a dessert than a beer, very good and incredibly built. Salud!
Serving type: on-tap

12oz. bottle poured into a snifter.
(A)- Pours a pitch black color. Produced some tan froth and bubbles.
(S)- A wonderful aroma of chocolate covered cherries with just a hint of raisins. Dessert in a glass.
(T)- A slight chalkiness meets a ton of chocolate covered cherries. Ever so slight medicinal(cough syrup) quality to the fruit, but subtle.
(M)- A good carbonation level. I like the balance aside from the chalky medicinal parts. It gets to be rather sweet as it warms.
(O)- The smell is glorious. Too bad the rest of the beer is not up to par.
