A - Pours a rich amber hue and is topped with a sturdy tan cap of froth which deposits huge sheets of lace upon the glass. Nice looking beer.
S - The nose is familiar in a generically hoppy sort of way. Which is not to say that it isn't good, because it is. It is just to say that it seems like the perfectly average PA/IPA hop bouquet, giving small notes of citrus, pine and tropical fruit.
T - In comparison to the rest of the 'Deconstructed' series, Ahtanum contributes lighter, more sugary flavors like candied tangerine and lemon, zesty pink grapefruit, and mellow sappy pine notes. It is very drinkable, quite hoppy in the balance, but not tremendousy bitter.
M - The feel is more soft than the other 'Deconstructed'; perhaps it is because the softer hop notes do not suggest the crispness which in turn lends the impression of sturdiness and tooth.
O - As is true with the entire 'Deconstructed' series, I like this one better than the regular Latitude 48.
