Samuel Adams Latitude 48 IPA - Ahtanum - This is a crystal clear amber ale with a dense off white head that has outstanding retention and lacing. It has a grassy, leafy aroma with a note of perfume. It's medium bodied and smooth with a very clean, dry finish. It's reasonably bitter with notes of wood resin and citrus. It doesn't seem to be blatant pine and grapefruit. It's kind of leaning toward oak and lime. This hop really blends with with the malt to the point where I can't pick out the caramel like I could in the others in this series. This almost seems like a session version of Arrogant Bastard. I really like these Sam Adams IPAs. I'd like to savor them more but they just go right down.
