As per my range of 4 out of 5's, I found this to be a good beer. I bought the Sam Adams deconstructed variety pack, and led off with the original Latitude 48. I was disappointed by the surprising amount of maltiness.
Simcoe IPA manages to erase that pathetic memory. It reminds me of Ranger from New Belgium -- bright citrus and piney hops. Delicious and wonderful on the nose.
It doesn't have much haze to it, but the rocky head and the ridiculous amount of lace deserve some credit. I thoroughly enjoyed this one, and plan to get another pack to share with friends and appreciate the variety of hops.
Even if BBC is only doing this because they overstocked on ingredients (If Latitude 48 didn't sell that well it wouldn't surprise me) I don't even care. This is a cool idea, and Simcoe is a tasty beer.
