Samuel Adams Latitude 48 IPA - Simcoe - This is a very clear, very sparkling, coppery amber ale with a soft, dense, off white head that has excellent retention and lacing. It has a strong Simcoe aroma. It's like orange peel and tangerine with a berry quality. It's medium-light bodied, smooth and a little slippery with a clean, dry finish. It's well balanced and very tasty. It's not very bitter, but there is a lot of hop flavor. Like the aroma, tangerine and possibly berries or... Blood orange! It tastes candy like but not sweet. There's a touch of caramel but the focal point here is certainly the hops. This is my favorite of the Latitude 48 series. I'm a big fan of Simcoe.
