12oz bottle with a Best Before Date notched at Sep. Pours a semi translucent amber with a thin head. Strong aroma of pine. Slight floral aroma as well as some grapefruit. Smells great. Taste is mostly pine upfront. A bit flowery. Hints of grapefruit near the end but its minimal. Some sweet caramel and malt flavors. Pine is the main flavor here. This one also has a bit of an oily mouthfeel to it but it isn't overly off-putting. Another solid IPA from this mix pack. Overall, I dig this one a lot and I'm starting to wish these IPAs weren't just a one shot deal.

Poured from a bottle into a nonic pint.

A - Pours a clear light copper/golden orange with a white, fluffy, two-finger head of foam. Decent rings of sticky lacing.

S - Moderate strength aroma of pine, earth, and some grapefruit.

T - Pine, grass, mint, grapefruit pith. Musty and herbal in the mid-palate. Caramel malt base beer fails to provide the correct balance. Lingering bitter bone-dry finish.

M - Lighter side of medium-bodied. Standard SA prickly carbonation. Quite oily.

O - A bitter bomb. Not well balanced. Zeus hop totally overpowers the base beer. Average at best.

The great Zeus flexes his muscles here but not necessarily in a good way. While many of these single hop IPA's in this series seem to be slightly overwhelmed by the malt this one does not. It carries a pungent ganja like aroma and a sharp, piney bitterness bites hard on the taste....

This one is too sharply bitter on its own as a single hop but in a way it brings a little more out of the malt used as it takes on a more toffee like flavor.

This one does taste like an IPA. Some will like this better than others. Heavy on the pine and ganja...for me this has too much pure bitterness and dryness to it.

12 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, best before 10/2014. Pours crystal clear orange amber color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, floral, grass, pine, caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity of citrus/pine hops and moderate malt balance; with good strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, floral, grass, pine, caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity of citrus/pine hops and moderate malt sweetness; with a good malt/bitterness balance and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth and fairly crisp/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with no warming present after the finish. Overall this is very good IPA. Good complexity of citrus/pine hops and moderate malt balance; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Poured into a pint glass. Small head and copperish to reddish hue. Medium hoppiness and sweetness. Not a bad overall beer. Sam Adams has done themselves well this v pack and beer selection Not too much more else i could really say about this beer other than what i have written
