Poured from 12oz bottle.
A- Pours a clear golden copper color. Two finger tan head shows great retention. Lots of web style lacing on the sides of the glass.
S- Light citrus from the hops in the front of the aroma. A almost overpowering caramel biscuity malt base in the middle almost ruin this aroma for me. Light piney/earthy hop aroma in the end help to attempt to balance this aroma out without much help.
T- Light pine bitterness that transforms into a almost bitter citrus bite in the front of the beer. The carmael malts drive in right after that with these taking up all of the middle flavor of the beer washing away any sort of hop presence. The ending of the beer shows off a little alcohol with some earthy bitter hop tones that begin to counterbalance all that sweetness but falls very short.
M- Medium mouthfeel. Carbonation is good for the style. Hints of bitter citrus and loads of caramel malts lay rest of the palate. Aftertaste is hints of bitter hop, lots of caramel malts, and light alcohol. Flavors once again could have been a lot more balanced and not so malt driven which seems unlike the style. No off flavors were present. Medium alcohol drying on the palate.
O- A nice attempt once again at showcasing one hop Sam Adams but the malt base just came out stronger.
