Working on the sixer from mymrnngjckt. Cheers Kevin!
Appearance: A rough pour into my DFH Chalice, this brew is a clear, dark, dull amber color with about an inch worth of soapy off-white head.
Smell: Where's the hops? Not as pronounced as I would have expected, but I guess they're there. Some pine with some under-ripe grapefruit.
Taste: The hops stand out a bit more here, but still a bit too malty for an IPA. The hops are slightly earthy with a grapefruit rind sort of taste to it. There's an abundance of malt with is over-balancing the beer.
Mouthfeel: Good body, good carbonation. Par for the course here.
Overall (Drinkability): A bit underwhelming for an IPA. I don't know, maybe I'm setting the bar a bit high. It's not a bad drinking IPA, but with much better ones out there I can't see myself specifically looking for another one of these.
