Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a Shaker pint glass, "best by" date October 2014.

APPEARANCE: pours a clear copper color with one finger off-white head that dissipated quickly into a thin broken layer of bubbles, medium carbonation and there was significant lacing on the glass.

SMELL: caramel, bread, pepper.

TASTE: the taste follows the nose, initially sweet caramel, bread then an average piney hop profile with just a hint of a metallic taste.

PALATE: medium body and carbonation.

OVERALL: this is a good IPA but not spectacular, there was a slight metallic taste that was somewhat unpleasant to me.

Poured into a standard pint glass: color is dark copper to near amber, head is light tan and presents thick almost 1/2 inch.

Smell is piney, earthy, a good amount of caramel malt but its clean followed by some more biscuity malt, light toast.

Taste is a bit sweeter, more caramel than in the nose; hops are bitter, earthy, somewhat harsh.

Mouthfeel is fairly balanced and more ipa like, less sweet in the lingering feel and more bitter.

Overall, an ipa that leans more towards a hoppy amber ale with a harsher bitter flavor

O: a nice piece of the Latitude 48 puzzle;

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle with an expiration date of October 2014. Sampled on September 20, 2014.

Copper-orange pour and a two-finger, puffy cream colored head.

The aroma has an earthy and spicy hop feel to it more than floral and pine.

The body is medium to full.

The hops present themselves more in the flavor with a bold bite on the palate that lingers at the finish.
