Pours a dark orange-amber color with a 1" head of light tan. Decent retention. Drops to a clumpy, thick film with some pretty good lacing.
Smell is not all hops, there is balance. Hops is present, of course, though there is malt along with a green grape and caramel notes. Biggest problem here is the scent is weak, well balanced but hard to pick up.
Taste is hops first with lighter malt, citrus, evergreen and some woodiness. Decently balanced but not as well as the nose. A fairly complex IPA, though.
Mostly full-bodied, warming with a somewhat restrained carbonation, for the style at least. A drinkable beer that tries to let you know not to drink too fast. Only 6% ABV but feels like 8% in many ways. Better than the other way 'round.

Appearance – This beer is absolutely gorgeous. The body is a dark, orangish-brown and murky with lots of carbonation and had a bountiful, brownish-white head that was full without exploding and pitted well on top of the liquid leaving some awesome, shaving cream foam around the edges of my pint glass. You could stand a quarter on this head, which I’ve only rarely seen and then usually with big, malty Belgians.

Smell – The dry hopping is evident here as is the use of British bitter-type hops. I would have liked to have seen a bit more complexity with all of the different hops used but the aroma is pleasing enough. I get a light grainy biscuit as well but this is definitely hop-dominated.

Taste – The hops pull back just a tad at the taste but are still big and lead the way. The promised Simcoe was hard to find and the heavy malts, evidenced in the ale’s color, fought like made just to get half a face in the pic. Sweetish notes came out a bit more on the tongue than the nose but otherwise this is quite a bitter brew.

Mouthfeel – This medium-bodied IPA hybrid is slick and slightly sweet but is ruled by a bitter streak. Carbonation is appropriately light.

Drinkability – This is a powerful AIPA and not to be sessioned. It will garnish the respect of any hophead and will be thoroughly enjoyable by the beer-drinking enthusiast.

Big off white head slowly settles into a nice lacing above a clear copper colored beer.

A light aroma of citrus hops blended with with a light caramel aroma.

Nice citrus hops bite in the taste of this beer, and after the initial hops passes there is a slight maltiness that seems to mix quite well.

A dry aftertaste that bring with it a slight bit of hops and malts with this medium bodied IPA.

A decent enough IPA seems to be better now then when they first released it, either that or the field has got watered down out there.

About copper in color with complete clarity and brightness, this IPA develops a fluffy head up, where it stops at one finger. Retention is good, and patching sticks nicely and in plenty nearly to the glass's bottom.
While there's a good balance of hops and malts in the nose, this beer asserts itself as an IPA with a strong and complex hops bouquet offering citrus, flora, some sweet tropical fruits, and some dry leaf after big pine notes, balanced by some biscuit.
There's a bit more earthiness in the flavor, then the pine hits. Citrus and fruits are still there, but bread and biscuit take the malts further. There's even a bit of roast meeting grapefruit and orange zest in the middle.
It's semi-dry all the way in a medium body, crisp but getting some backup from heft in the malts to add a smoothness. Dryness and sweetness are distinct but harmonious in the finish.

12 ounce bottle poured into a pint glass.

A - Poured a nice golden color with a decent head.

S - Hops dominate, particularly citrus.

T - Very citrus taste with decent enough malt in the background.

M - Very good carbonation level with a good dry finish.

O - This is a really nice beer, a little on the high alcohol side for a session, but if you like hops you should try this one.
