had this at my favorite restaurant in new orleans, Boucherie. enjoyed with boudin balls, and brisket and garlic parmesan fries.
poured a dark blood red amber body with a thick frothy tan head.
smells of pumpkin pie, with actual pumpkin smell more prevalent than spices.
tastes strong of pumpkin, with subtle cinnamon and nutmeg too
good light carbonation and a smooth creaminess, but there is a peculiar aftertaste that was a little off-putting.
overall this was a good pumpkin beer, but not my favorite. as far as samuel adams fall seasonals, i would stick to their octoberfest.
had this again by the bottle, tastes smokey and has a very balanced taste between the pumpkin and the spices

Undated bottle at 45 degrees into standard pint glass
Aroma of spices
Head average (4 cm), light brown, frothy, rapidly diminishing to 2 mm ring
Lacing spotty; few small islands of various sized bubbles
Body dark amber, clear
Flavor begins slightly bitter with spices like a pumpkin pie; ends sweeter with an alcohol taste. No hops, no diacetyl.
Palate medium, oily, lively carbonation.
Not a particularly good beer, probably would taste better very cold. The appearance and aroma are both OK.
