Best by Jul 2014 at 40 degrees into goblet
Aroma slight hops
Head small (2 cm), light brown, rocky; oddly, the head is mostly lasting.
Lacing virtually none
Body dark ruby, clear
Flavor ? Maybe, but it’s hard to find. The Tasmanian hops apparently don’t survive the bottling process well. This beer is slightly bitter, but lacks any distinct hop character – no alcohol, no malt, no diacetyl; no pine, citrus, tropical fruit, flower, etc. hop flavors or aromas are found.
Palate light, watery, carbonation soft.

While this is an attractive beer with OK mouthfeel, it is so lacking in flavor that it is hard to describe adequately. I first had this beer in 2012 when it was a limited release in bombers. It still is just an OK beer – nothing good enough to buy again and nothing bad enough to turn down if someone offers you one.

A: Reddish color with a nice head on it.

S: Smelled stale and somewhat sour with a bit of sweet caramel.

T: Comparable to sweaty gym socks. I think this is severely out of date, but the bottle is not dated.

M: Mostly flat with a severely sour punch.

O: Very disappointing. I believe it is way out of date, but the bottle is not dated so I have no way to tell. Will not be trying again.

Fantastic bouquet full of oranges, lemon zest, marzipan, and cherries. Pours a dark ruby red that darkens to a brown around the edges. Flavor does not quite live up to the impressive nose but is still quite tasty with citrus flavors and carmelized sugar being at the forefront, followed by an earthy but subdued hop bitterness. Some nuttiness in the malt but none of the fruit flavors translate. Finishes clean and fairly neutral. Mouthfeel is slightly thinner than expected with an ample carbonation level. More of a hoppy amber than an IPA; very balanced and drinkable but doesn't come near my personal favorite example of the style, Arrogant Bastard.
