Not bad - better than the run of the mill Sam Adams product.
Pours a deep red with a big fluffy light tan head. The aroma is slight, a bit woody. The flavor is very malty, sweet and carmelly, with a slight spice on the finish and a deep hop bitterness. The effect is almost like a bitter chocolate on the finish.
