The beer pours a dark reddish-brown color with an off-white head. The aroma is full of biscuit malt with a ton of pine from the hops. The flavor is more of the same. I get a lot of pine, with some richness from the caramel and biscuit malt and somewhat surprisingly, a little bit of alcohol. There is a lot of hop flaovr and a decent amount of hop bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Pours a clear but dark rust copper color, thin cap of khaki froth, moderate sticky lacing. Scent brings light caramel and earthy and grassy hop balance, some light toasted malt with kisses of citrus and pine. Taste of slightly aggressive citrus, pine and earthy hops balance with lightly sweet caramel malts, faint toasted grain. Medium bodied, lightly oily and coating. Quite a nice IPA from Sam Adams who have been doing a good job with hoppy beers lately.

1 pint 6 oz. bottle poured into a Sam Adams Perfect Pint Glass. A nice hearty amber/red color with (Like what seems every BBC beer) perfect clarity. Nice orange cream colored head with mostly small bubbles making it look frothy, but some very big bubbles come through and it makes it look like some cake batter that spatters on the stove and cooks on it by mistake; if that makes sense. Really good lacing on this one.
Smell is REALLY good. Take all the best things a bout a hearty amber ale and a well hopped IPA and blend them and this would be the result. Nice tones of well toasted caramel pale malts and slightly sweet bread, giving it sort of subtle candy careamel sweetness. On top of that there is a great piney and huge amounts of citrusey hops as well. Slightest of slight floral aromas too. Overall a great smelling beer.
Taste is 100% on par with the aroma. Starts bready and nice. Tastes of caramel sweetness and sugar (slight molasses). The sugaryness almost gives it a subtle candy (similar to sugar babies) flavor to start. Hops balance out the flavor quite nicely. Grapefuit, tangerine, as well as pine hops finish everything out in the flavor profile. It's almost perfect, easily he best tasting Red Ale I've ever had.
Moutfeel is great. Medium bodied that starts reasonably smooth and creamy but has a nice strong, sharp bitter finish. Good carbonation level. Very nice the whole way through, great drinkability.
Probably the best part is that this beer is pretty short money. Really solid beer, thats less thatn 5$. Nice job Sam Adams!

A - Poured from a growler into a chalice. Small amount of head. Thin, quickly fading lacing. Beautiful dark amber color, clear.
S - Fairly balanced nose, malty at first then the hop notes come through.
T - Similar to the smell. Starts with sweet malts then the hop flavors finish it off.
M - Full bodied, smooth and easy drinking.
O - Well rounded, balanced and delicious. Ill be getting this again for sure!
