Poured from a bottle into a tumbler pint, the beer is unfiltered to the point of opacity. A bright, hazy, orange-yellow coloring with a thin, filmy, bright white surface coating. This almost looks like Orangina. Slow, steady flow of carbonation bubbling throughout. Aromas of basil and pepper spicing on a green and dry hops character and a heavy hand of citrus zest and sweetness. Interesting nose. Flavors are a bit more citrusy. Okay, a lot more citrusy. Very tart lemon character with a hint of sweet orange; this blend barrels over any of the hops and malt that may have been present. Some searching through the palate and you can pick up hints of oregano spice and a touch of a bready backbone, but barely. The tart flavors build as you drink, so it makes it difficult to further explore flavor profiles. The aftertaste is the bitter and tart citrus character once again, almost with an acidic edge. Quick, dry finish with a linger to the citrus. This one gets tough to drink towards the end.

Poured into a standard pint glass a tagerine color tinged hazy yellow with a nicely formed lacey 1/2 finger white head.Aromas were pretty light with some toasted wheat and lemony notes,I didn' get much grapefruit or pine like many others.Quite dry on the palate with sharp grapefruit rind and lemon pith, the flavors seem to fade with mild toasted wheat in the finish. Not a bad beer, good to drink while out grillin like today.

A: A somewhat cloudy golden beer with a persistent, rocky, white head.

S: One of the hoppier smelling beer I've had from S.A. and very good smelling IPA in general. A moderately-strong citrus hops aroma with a fair amount of pineapple notes. There is a moderately-light wheat aroma and light fruity ester.

T: A strong citrus hops flavor with moderate hops bitterness dominate the flavor. Not far behind is some of the orange peel flavor and bitterness with a light bit of malt and wheat sweetness. The balance is moderately bitter with a fairly dry finish. The aftertaste is of a lingering hops and citrus peel bitterness.

M: A fluffy beer with a medium body and moderately-strong carbonation.

O: The mouthfeel and citrus peel let you know that despite the strong hop flavor lets you know this is not an IPA.

LOOK: As per the bottle, a hazy brew. Dirty peach, massive creamy white foam head.

SMELL: Powdery spices, pine, citric peel, stone fruit.

TASTE: Medium bodied, crisp, apricot fruitiness, semi-sweet backbone, soft pine, grassy bitterness, citric, wheat husk, dry finish.

White IPAs are trendy at the moment, so this White (wheat) Ale meets India Pale Ale decides to distinguish itself from the rest by also adding apricots to the mix; spices too, but that's from the White Ale. Personally, the apricots and hops don't play together all that well. There's an odd flavor that forms as a result and takes away from the malt profile. Overall, not a bad beer, but it seems a bit too contrived in my opinion.

12oz bottle. Pours a light hazy golden amber with a medium rocky head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is sweet honey malts and some melon with some grassy hops.

The flavor is sweet wheaty malts, and some tropical fruits with a pretty big harsh bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, an pretty good IPA, one of the better beers from Sam Adams. I like the fruits but the flavors don't all really blend well together.

Bought this at the local liquor store looking for something "light and refreshing" I have been on a heiferweizen kick as of late, just because its been so hot. This I have to say wasy pleasantly surprising. it is light quite hoppy but not in way where I found it too hoppy (being a guy who doesn't like IPA as much as some do.) It was exactly what I wanted. Its light its extremely drinkable , and goes good with any food I can think to pair it with.

Please try this if you can find it in your area.

12 ounce bottle, with freshness info notching on the side of the label. Came as part of the hop a licious box set.

Pours clouded washed out pale apricot. Light tan, fine bubble head, stays at the 1/4 inch level and leaves decent strands and bits of lace.

Moderate grapefruit rinds, pine needles and sweet flowery hints picked up by the sniffer.

More dry grapefruit, light pine and fruity IPA goodness on the palate. Not picking up the advertised apricots. Tasty enough, but a bit lacking in density of flavor and bite of hop. Middle of the road mass produced IPA. Drinkable for sure, but not in the class of more intensly flavorful renditions of the style. Good newbie craft brew, perhaps something my BMC drinking kids might try and enjoy. Decent summery IPA
