Found handwritten notes. Presumably written about 11 years ago.

"Label notched Best Before JUL 2012"
Poured into Duvel glass.

Appearance - Big loose barely offwhite head. Cloudy. Opaque light brown amber body. Decent to good lacing .Good retention. 4

Smell - Soft hop and plenty of malt. Citrusy. A bit earthy. Dry cardboard. 4

Taste - Lime peel bitterness. 4

Mouthfeel - Astringent. Bitterness lingers well into the aftertaste. Very dry. 3

Overall - Pretty harsh beer. A little too dry. No balance. Interesting, but have to be in the mood for this one. 2.5

From notes 6/5/12: Pours a hazy, unfiltered dark peach juice like golden orange color with nice carbonation producing 2+ fingers of white, frothy head with good retention and nice chunks of stick lacing. Aroma is bready and fain caramel malt, pine, citrus and stone fruit (obviously apricot). Taste is wheat and apricot forward with a hint of cantaloupe gravitating toward a pine and citrus middle with a bittersweet finish that develops into a slightly more bitter aftertaste. Taste like a heavy bodied summertime brew to be taken in small doses, too syrupy, too sweet.

Very nasty beer. Pours a hazy golden color with a small head and a lot of sediment floating in it. Super hoppy taste and smell overly carbonated and a harsh swallow. Would not recommend to ANYONE.

Samuel Adams Whitewater IPA brewed by Boston Beer Company (Samuel Adams) This IPA had an ABV of 5.80% The pour on Whitewater IPA is a nice golden amber color with a nice thick white head. There is also a fair amount of lacing to this IPA. The smell of Whitewater IPA is hops, grains and malts. Thought there would be more hops to the smell of this brew. There is also a slight bitterness to the smell of this brew. Now for the taste, it is smooth with flavors. You do pick up on some hop bitterness, and some smoothness of grains and malts. There is a lot going on in Samuel Adams Whitewater IPA. This IPA is more milder than most IPA's on the market, not saying that is a bad thing. I like how smooth this brew goes down. There is nothing overpowering about this brew, it has a real nice balance to it. The month feel of Samuel Adams Whitewater IPA is smooth, rich, clean and refreshing. Overall I'm giving this brew a 4.25 out of 5. This is a nice ligher IPA on the market, not saying that is a bad thing. I really like how smooth this brew is and how nice it is to drink. I would buy this brew again. Boston Beer Company (Samuel Adams) did a real nice job with this brew. If you are looking for a lighter less Hoppy IPA look this brew up.
