22 ounce bottle, Batch #2. No date information on the bottle from what I can tell, but I think it's got some age to it since the Sam Adams website says this isn't currently brewed. That and I bought the bomber for just $2.99 so it must have been on some kind of closeout. Served in a nonic pint glass, the beer pours very dark brown with an inch tan head that stuck around a little while. There's also a lot of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like roasted malt, chocolate, citrusy hops, and pine hops. The taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some molasses, burnt/charred malt, dark fruit and earthiness noticeable. There's a lingering bitter finish. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's slick and creamy with moderate carbonation. I thought this was pretty good. It ages well, next time I'll make a point to try a fresher batch of this!
