I have not had a lot of experience with this style. Pours a copper gold with a nice white head. Decent retention, and some laceing. Aroma is of grassy hops, and some toasty malts.Body is fairly thick with some carbonation. Taste is a good blend of fruity hops, with some bready malt as well. Good stuff.

A: A pale amber having good clarity and an off-white head. The head is long lasting and made of compact bubbles that leave a light bit of Belgian lace on the glass.

S: Moderately-strong Belgian yeast aromas of oranges, peaches and clove with moderate hops aromas that are mostly earthy and pine with a light note of citrus. I want the hops to be stronger and dry hopped myself.

T: The flavor is fairly balance between the hops, malt and the yeast character with a moderate hops bitterness and earth hops flavor with a lower amount of citrus and pine hop flavors. The yeast brings mostly a peppery though slightly clove spiciness to the beer along with some fruitiness that is again orange and peach with maybe a bit of banana. There is a moderate malt sweetness that is almost stronger than the bitterness with a light caramel flavor. The balance is moderately bitter. The finish is off-dry and the aftertaste is of citrus and hops bitterness.

M: Notably creamy with a medium to medium-full bodied with a moderate-strong level of carbonation.

O: There isn't as much hops as I'd like for an IPA but it is balanced and malty whereas I like them a with an assertive amount of hops and somewhat unbalance so I can't knock it on points because it's still well with in style.

Poured with a thick 3 finger deep head with tiny creamy bubbles with lots of lacing. Citric and sweet aroma flowery..sweet pipe tobacco as well. Lots of flavor with a light piney and sweetness to the flavor. I seem to pick up a smooth slight vanilla taste. The mouth fell is crisp and slightly prickly. Light/medium finish with a flavor that last a a decent while but fades smoothly. Very nice beer.

12 oz bottle. Pours clear light golden orange with a big rocky white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is some soap (rosemary) with some sweet bready malt and a little piney hop.

The flavor is sweet sugary soapy malts with a big harsh bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, an odd sweet soapy spicy IPA.

12oz brown bottle with a freshness date.

LOOK: Hazed amber, lush looking head leaves a beautiful trail of lacing down the glass

SMELL: Spicy alcohol, Pear, guava, passion fruit, cake batter, hop resin, gummy, spicy

TASTE: Smooth, creamy, bitter, ripe exotic fruit, peppery, estery, phenolic, citric rind, warming, spicy semi-sweet finish

A controlled mess here but that is what the style can be, deeply complex and a bit wild. A fun brew to try.

12 ounce bottle, from the IPA a licious box offering, freshness dating along the side of the label.

Pours lighter amber, approaching clear, under a long lasting and frothy medium tan head, that leaves super thick and sticking sheeting and fine bubble lace. Nice looking beer.

Nose is flled with oranges and some clove infused yeast notes.

More oranges and more cloves provide a nice spice note, but the whole party is then trampled on by a heavy handed and overpowering hop bitterness thats a wee bit off putting. Could use more spice and more floral characteristics and a bit less hop...just my humble opinion...

Ehh, just a bit less then a middle of the road take on the popular style.

Appearance: 1 inch head, high carbonation, gold in color, clear

Smell: Belgian spices and light hops--dead on for the style

Taste: grassiness followed by a bit of caramel and Belgian spices...Citrus hops bitter at the end.

Mouthfeel: sweet start with a bitter/dry end, very high carbonation, light bodied

Overall: A very solid Belgian IPA. I like the smoothness of this one. Not overly bitter and has a bit of trademark Sam. I would certainly look for this one if I wanted an easy drinking beer in this style.

The beer pours a golden-orange color with a white head. The aroma has some nice orange citrus notes, as well as a lot of flowers and a strong dose of Belgian yeast. The flavor is very similar. There is a ton of biscuit malt and Belgian yeast, as well as some floral and orange citrus notes. There is also a hint of pine and a little bit of bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Poured from a bottle into a Sam Adams Glass.

Appearance: Cloudy gold color with a beige head and medium lacing.

Smell: Citrus, malts and hops.

Mouthfeel/Taste: Medium bodied. Sweet tasting with grains and hops.

Overall: Not the best Pale Ale I have ever had but glad I tried it. I personally dont't see anything special about it that might stick out.

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Tulip.

Appearance: Clear orange with a frothy white head, leaving some great lacing behind. A little surprised it is filtered.

Smell: Clove, spice, fleshy fruit and citrus.

Taste: This is a very spicy and clove driven Belgian brew. A little earthy and rustic, borderline wild. There is some tropical and fleshy fruits going on as well, with the hops adding citrus and very slight pine. Just somewhat bitter.

Feel: Fairly light bodied with high carbonation. Very dry throughout. Definitely feels more Belgian than IPA, which really works here.

Overall: A very good example of the style, and under 6% alcohol as well. Happily impressed.
