Poured from a bottle into a stange.
A - Pours a hazy orange marmalade color, with a fluffy three-finger white head. Ringlets of sticky lacing.
S - Powerful aroma of fruit, butterscotch, sour mash, caramel, and a bit of metallic mineral.
T - Sadly doesn't match the nose, as not much caramel or butterscotch is present. Sweet and sour at the same time, with notes of mandarin orange, pear, apple, lemon, and lime. Some clove and lots of coriander. There IS a tiny bit of malt sweetness lurking underneath but you have to look for it. Mineral element in the nose present in the salty finish. ABV of only 6% somehow detectable in the aftertaste.
M - Medium bodied and carbonated, but with an extremely oily feel. Kind of odd.
O - Cant say I'm a big fan of this style. The fruity sweet & sour element with the saltiness was just a little too weird to me for this beer to be truly enjoyable. Not a repeat buy. However, kudos to Sam Adams for the attempt at making this style more available.
