12 oz bottle poured into a pilsner glass.
4.5% ABV, Best before Oct notched on label.

A - Bright goldenrod yellow in color and shimmering with clarity, Porch Rocker has a long-lasting white head despite the acidity from the lemon juice; a tough thing to overcome.

S - Porch Rocker is off to a great start with a fresh, tart lemonade aroma of Old Fashioned Lemonade from those white, green, and yellow stands so popular at fairs. The juice blended with the base of light beer is done very well, allowing the lemonade to stand out but not completely wash out the pale grainy malt; the beer base.

T - Simplistic pale lager undertones bring both grainy pale malts and sweet, bready nuances that counteract the lemonade tartness perfectly, removing the need for any artificial sweetener. While the aroma is more lemonade-focused, the flavor is wonderfully balanced towards the beer with just a subtle hint of floral hops on the back end.

M - Effervescent but not intrusive, Samuel Adams' Porch Rocker is a smooth and crisp brew with an exceptional balance of the beer's malty sweetness with the lemonade tartness and refreshment on the finish.

O - The Radler style doesn't seem to be very popular among the hardcore beer crowd and there are a few solid arguments I could see supporting that but, when a brewer is after a blend of lemonade and beer, one must to go into the experience expecting what the brewer is after, not something else. With that said, Samuel Adams' Porch Rocker is a near flawless example of a Radler; a well-made beer blended with lemonade that's neither artificial or overpowering. It's crisp and refreshing aroma make for a lively smell that leads right into a light kiss of lemonade tartness balanced with a bright and malty helles lager in the flavor. Still beer-forward, it's hard to ask for a more refreshing or sublime marriage of the two.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a pint glass.

The color is a clear yellowish gold with less then a finger of foamy head and no lacing on the glass.

The smell is pretty muted with some hints at straw and wheat in the nose but is not giving much more.

The taste has a fruit flavor that is hard to place. There is a sweet strawberry flavor that seems to come out in just a fraction before dumping a big sugary smack toward the end. There some touches a bready flavor at the front before the flavor bomb hits the tongue and covers up any other flavor that's there.

The feel if the beer pretty light and goes down easy. It's low ABV makes for a good session beer if you enjoy the almost candy-like flavor that is the driving flavor of this beer.

Appearance :'look like lager beer

Smell : grain , biscuity and lemons

Taste:' taste of grain and over powering lemon taste. It had a very tart sour taste to it. The session ability is low and probably could only drank one of this beers.

Mouthfeel : it had medium mouthfeel with medium carbonation.

Overall : I had better fruit / vegetable beers then this one. It is just to much tart lemon lingering for my taste.

Finally picked up a single of this brew since summer season has been in session and still can't believe I haven't tried it yet. Lets see how this brew goes.

Appearance: Pours a straw, pale yellow that is pretty much see-through, but displays some pretty impressive bubbles. Head is not too bad, about half-inch. Lacing is quite nice, follows pretty much all the way down the glass. Not too impressed.

Smell: Noticed an over zealous aroma of lemon. Some grain-like malts, not too bad, but it is too hard to notice over the power of lemon. Some tartness is noticed. Not too much to my style.

Taste: Pretty much an over-powering taste of lemon and what is that, simple syrup? Overpowered, but upon second and third sips, I did notice some peppery flavors with earthy tones. Sweet, but some malt notes are noticeable. Not too impressed.

Mouthfeel: Medium carbonation, light, dry finish. Some sugary notes, but still drinkable. Unimpressed by the overpowering lemon and sugar.

Overall: I came into this brew with at least some decent expectations, considering Sam Adams brewed this. Was deeply unimpressed, tired of that word already. However, on the finish, I did notice SOME hoppiness flavors. I would not recommend to a friend, unless they enjoy those shandy beers, then you're on your own. Cheers!
