Scored in the summer variety pack.

Pours a cloudy yellow, a duller hefeweizen kind of appearance going for itself. Aroma of lemons. Its minorly sweet, for a shandy beer, its probably below average, which gives a bit of the beer aspects of the aroma to eek out.

Plenty of lemon in the taste, wheaty and other citric notes after that. A real soft wheat/grain/hop edge. Its surprisingly enjoyable, I'd rather drink this than Boston Lager on a hot day, a little tart, a little sweet. Call it a guilty pleasure maybe.

Still nothing I would drink more than 12oz of in any given 24 hour period. Its a nice beer to start out or have early in the drinking experience. Couldn't see it working in anything below 60 degrees outside. Carbonation good, beer neither too light or too heavy. I'd say my score goes up 1/2 grade on this beer when its 90 degrees or above outside.

Samuel Adams Porch Rocker has a thick, off-white head, a mostly clear, bubbly, golden-straw appearance, and no lacing. The aroma is of sweet, citrusy flavoring. Taste is of sweet, citrusy "freezy-pop" flavoring and Quaker brand instant grits (butter flavor). Mouthfeel is fairly light and watery, and Samuel Adams Porch Rocker finishes crisp, refreshing, kid-pop, and drinkable. For those who favor these insipid, Flavor-Aid, gimmick "beers", this should do the trick. I rate it good, for what it is. And, what it is, is pretty-much what’s wrong with beer, which has "jumped the shark", so to speak. It's worth trying, if you're open-minded and can tolerate "all that".

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle notched off at Oct 2013. Sampled on June 9, 2013.

It looks pretty good and within the style with a pale yellow color and a long-lasting foamy white head. Busy carbonation. The way it looked was my favorite characteristic.

Because the aroma was just way too fruity for my tastes even for a fruit/vegetable beer. I like it to be more subtle not explosive with citrus, lemon, and orange like this one was. I barely found any malts on the nose.

The body was typical for the style falling into the light range.

The taste was a lot like drinking recently squeezed lemon juice mashed in with pale malts and barley. I guess that's the way it was supposed to taste considering the style. This will find a definite audience because it would be refreshing on a hot and humid day. Maybe if I try it again in mid-July when it's 90 degrees I might appreciate it better.
