Had this beer in tap in Alston, so I'm going to assume this is the way it was meant to be.
Poured to an interesting color. Fairly dark hue, yet cloudy. Not your typical white beer color, this is because this beer is a riff on the white beer it is of course a "white ale" though, whatever that means.
To me the taste just seemed a bit off. Too much bitters for a white beer. The bitterness seemed to clash with the yeast as the kicked in later and had a synergistic effect of making my want to pucker. I love a good beer but this was the first brew to give me what the majors call the "bitter beer face". Its not the intensity of the bitter, just the pairing. After one, I wasn't interested in having another.
Serving type: on-tap
