12 oz. brown bottle with best before June 08 notched on bottle label. Poured into pint glass. Part of a sixer I purchased. This is my first review of this beer which I've purchased many, many times over the years.
Appearance: golden yellow with orange tinges in body with a rocky white head that towers over the top of my glass and holds for several minutes before slowly receding. Lacing clings to the sides of the glass. Bits of sediment yeast are suspended in a somewhat unfiltered look. Columns of bubbly carbonation make for a very refreshing look.
Smell: scents of citrus peels, orange, lime and lemon lead the way with a zesty yeast along with muddled spices of coriander and pepper.
Taste: light wheat and malty semi-sweet caramel are met immediately by citrus flavors and mild spiciness. Hop flavors are rather light with alcohol hidden almost completely.
Mouthfeel: on the lighter side of medium in body with perfect carbonation. Smooth in texture, the citrus zest adds a slight mouth puckering.
Drinkability: after many years of drinking SA White Ale, it's always one beer I look forward to come springtime. All around good drinking beer.
