A brand new style from Samuel Adams out of their Fall Harvest mix pack.
A: This beer pours a dark reddish/amber color with a thin mocha colored head that leaves some nice lacing.
S: The aroma starts out with Caramel and coffee, quite strong. Finishes off with a deep roasted hazelnut and some malts.
T: Coffee and caramel right up front in the flavor, followed by that dark roasted hazelnut. This beer finishes with a smooth, underlying spice from the hops.
M: Very rich and creamy, has a lot of nut flavor with a nice blend between the coffee and caramel. Dark and thicker than a typical Sam Adams, very drinkable.
O: Not a lot of beers except for stouts and a good IPA make me say "wow", but this beer does. Amazing flavor, the dark roasted nut flavor is very well blended with the coffee and caramel notes. I always save the newest beers in the mixed pack for last because they usually turn out to be the best. This one was no different and I couldnt ask for a better replacement of the "Bonfire Rauchbier" From 2011.

Appearance - Pours a quick finger of light tan head, body is a translucent reddish amber, a little carb in toe body, some decent webbed lacing after the session.
Smell - Hazelnuts right off the bat, touch of breadcrust, light toffee, and whiff of chocolate.
Taste - Much like the nose, hazelnuts, light roast, some dark toffee, and some light minerals in the finish.
Mouthfeel - Lighter side of medium, almost medium carb is smooth over the tongue with some bright edges along the sides and back of the tongue, a very easy drinker.
Overall - A pretty good beer actually, very pleasantly surprised. Drink it fresh though, I forgot about one for a few months and the mineral like flavors take over.
