Pour: Deep reddish-brown in color. A finger of off-white head that dissipated quickly and leaves minimal lacing on the glass.
Smell: Sweet, malty smell. Big aroma of caramel and molasses. Slight smokiness in the aroma.
Taste: Reminds me of a good single-malt Islay Scotch Whiskey. Very sweet caramel malty flavor. Some orange in the finish, and it's tied together by a mouthwatering Islay peat smokey flavor. Delicious.
Mouthfeel: Soft and low carbonation. Medium bodied and creamy. Very smooth.
Drinkability: Easy drinking, but a bit filling. Nice sipper.
Final Notes: Sweet and smoky. What's not to like? One of Sam's better brews, I think.
