Beer added by: TMoney2591 on 10-22-2012

As crisp as the first snowfall of the year, this unfiltered white ale is blended with holiday spices including cinnamon, nutmeg, & orange peel. The familiar citrus and wheat characters of the ale are complemented by the warmth of the spices for a festive brew that's perfect for the season.

[Suggested Glassware: Weizen Glass]

The pour was a medium golden orange with a small (less than 1 finger) white fluffy head that quickly diminished, down to a very thin film and not so good runny lacing.

The aroma was of a light straw malt and a doughy horse blanket yeast with notes of citrus (orange), coriander, nutmeg and cinnamon.

The taste was lightly sweet and rather yeasty with a pronounced citrus note throughout, with the finish having a slight spiciness at the very end. The flavor lingered for an average time following the swallow, with a mild spicy yeast taste fading slowly from the taste buds.

Mouthfeel was just above light in body with a mildly dry texture and a medium carbonation.

Overall a decent enough brew that did posses a good drinkability, but was really nothing overly special as Witbier's go...

Part of Winter Variety Pack - Best by April:

Pours clouded light orange-amber with a fluffy head that soon thins. Thin lacing sticks.

The smell is of wheat tang with mild spices.

The taste is of wheat tang, orange peel, coriander, nutmeg, mint, mild cinnamon. It has a tangy, spicy, crisp finish.

It is light-bodied and fairly effervescent.

A mild witbier with some "holiday" spices. Not bad. (398 characters)

12oz bottle into SA Perfect Pint glass.

A: Pours a lightly cloudy golden with lemon highlights beneath a short lived soft looking bright white head that faded into a fuzzy film. Thin wisps of lace were left down the glass.
S: Clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon are easily noticeable upon first whiff. I get notes of wheat and chalky yeast and a touch of citrus following.
T: Creamy wheat flavors mixed with minerally yeast and syrupy citrus flavors. Cinnamon and nutmeg are still prominent. Everything has kind of a syrupy greasy flavor/feel to it that is a bit off putting. The aftertaste is synthetic and contains notes of black pepper and white grape juice.
M: Very soft and frothy carbonation goes well with a very creamy medium body and smooth mouthfeel. This beer is greasy though and coasts my mouth strangely.
O: A step fuller and creamier than the really bad ones of the style, but I did not care for this one a whole lot more than I care for those. Flavors are as described on the bottle but taste synthetic and syrupy, and everything has an oily texture to it. Not the worst the definitely not the best offering from BBC. (1,131 characters)

I really enjoyed this beer. I enjoyed it along side ken burns doc on prohibition. I really loved the taste and feel. It is a very nicely crafted beer. One of my favorites. Sadly I can't get anymore now that its January. Shame on me (231 characters)

This beer was a hazy orange color with a very small white head.

The aroma was mostly citrus, with a bit of spice. Some grain,

Orange taste, coriander, and a little cinnamon. Cereal in the background.

This was a pleasant enough beer, just not that exciting. Taken in context, I think it went well in the Winter 12 pack, however. (330 characters)

A: hazy yellow with a white head. leaves no lacing, no head retention.

S: nutmeg, cinnamon are very noticeable. there is also corriander and slight citrus

T: Spice is overpowering for me. It's like the smell of my grandma's house is covering up a pretty decent witbier.

M: light, bubbly on the tongue. I personally would prefer less carbonation. not bad by any means but nothing special.

Overall a pretty average beer. would be improved with better head retention, less spice/more beer taste, and slightly less carbonation. (527 characters)

12oz brown bottle with a freshness date

LOOK: Hazed golden straw hue, sufficient lacing

SMELL: Fruit cake spicing, bready, sweet, mildly plummy, hint of alcohol

TASTE: Smooth, moderate sized body, a bit slick, assertive spiciness, light breath of alcohol, semi-sweet, slightly bready, peppery, ripe pears, spicy grainy finish

Not half bad, sort of an odd ball to the group. Would have love to see this amped up to 7% abv or a bit more but they kept it safe. I'm sure they'll be snatched up during any holiday parties being a witbier and all. (545 characters)

12 ounce bottle, enjoy before March notched onto the side of the label.

Pours hazed lighter apricot amber. Minor off white head, thin collar and fine bars of lace.

Light holiday spice on the nostrils. Ehh nothing too special.

Delicate wit, some coriander, and other typical seasonal spicing. Easy drinking and pleasant enough, holiday feel here is fairly subtle. Decent stuff, but nothing you need to run out and buy.

Would work with craft beer newbies at a holiday party.... (480 characters)
