A new limited release from Sam Adams!

Pours out pretty hazy with a nice orange/yellow color and a fluffy white head.

The aroma is typical White Ale; wheat, citrus and coriander with hints of cinnamon.

The taste is pretty much the same. A good amount of wheat with orange, subdued coriander, cinnamon, nutmeg and that's about it.

The body is light and so is the mouthfeel.

A nice idea on the part of Sam Adams, but this isn't bold enough in the flavor. Pretty standard for the style.

12oz bottle, pours a hazy, ruddy, yellow color with a tinge of rusty orange, tall white head sticks around and leaves some lace as it fades. Aromas are oddly musty, wheaty, spicy, orange peel. Tastes are wheaty, nutmeg, cinnamon, yeast, still musty, orange. Thin-to-medium mouth-feel, higher carbonation makes it feel fuller. Finishes fairly clean with slight tartness & dryness. Overall, this was a disappointment. I don't feel that the cinnamon & nutmeg belong here, maybe some familiar clove might have rounded it out a bit?

Foggy gold body with a slender, creamy white head. Spicy, powdery sweet aroma...cinnamon, citrus, coriander, and clove. Very mild. A lot of spices in the flavor too, though not overly spiced. Lemon, orange peel, lightly sweet wheat malt, and nutmeg. Creamy, medium-light body. Meh, I don't know...I'm not really feeling this one.

Sam Adams witbier, all right all right. Pours out a dull straw color with a feeble head. Slightly transparent, decent haze. One whiff and I knew I had to take another...because I couldn't smell anything. On a deep inhale, I got some citrus and wet grains. Flavor is similarly nondescript, just a little tang upfront followed by a decidedly more pleasant husky grain finish. Does not really strike me as a wit, more like a mediocre hefe. Not that every wit should be a slave to the bananaclove flavor profile, but if you're going a different route, at least make it interesting. The strongest part of the flavor here is the mellow but long lingering wheaty aftertaste. The most notable feature of the beer as a whole is its incredible texture, which only makes me wonder what could have been if they had nailed the taste.

Poured chilled in tall lager glass

A: cloudy peach, good carbonation, thin head, not much lacing
S: strong yeast aroma; not very appealing
T: sweet; fruity and estery; some modest spicing--allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg;
M: decent

Not bad for a party beer; not much special about it

Pours a hazy yellow color. Not super pale. It has a coarse white head that keeps on dissolving.

Smells like a spiced shandy. Coriander and grain of paradise is here, but it's overblown with a weird aroma of cheap, artificially-sweetened lemonade. Wheat malts are grainy and dull. Not so hot, so far.

Wheat grain, cinnamon, nutmeg, orange peel, and lemon peel; almost exactly as descripted. Still not a good ratio of additives. The cinnamon, now, is really heavy. Nutmeg is strong, too. The citrus elements aren't fresh, nor fermentedly tart. Just tang on tang on tang. Dusty spices, albeit heavy, offer little relief. Too punchy.

Mouthfeel is interesting. Tough to rate, because I don't enjoy drinking it. However, it doesn't hold its own. The body is too thick. There's some stickiness on the lips. And, the carbonation is too weak to make any kind of difference.

I have to hold Boston Brewing responsible here. This is a poorly executed holiday ale. Throw me an Old Fezziwig or a Holiday Porter any day over this.
