Part of the 2013 Spring Thaw Variety Pack - $12.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours out a hazy, darkish golden body with a smallish, receding, white head.
Smell: Bright, cheery orangey citrus note atop the wheat malt and redolent spice mix.
Taste: Malted wheat with a touch of breadiness and sugared sweetness. Spritzy citrus character as the carbonation crackles across the tongue, fast followed by the spices, the Grains of Paradise with its characteristic peppery bite. Very minor hop character, bitterness, letting the citrus additions and spices take on that role.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation.
Overall: Minus the GoP, it's not particularly distinguishable from a Blue Moon, and, after Summer and Coastal Wheat, I'm really not sure they needed another light, wheat-based, Grains of Paradise-dosed anything.
