Copper color with amazing clarity, looks extremely professional, no floaties, solid 1" of white head on it, great lively carbonation. Sexy looking beer.

Aroma was hoppy and yielded plenty of lager yeast aroma, not unlike Bruery's humulus lager. Plenty of hop oil and resin, lager esters, amounting to a unique and enjoyable aroma.

The taste is a little bit of everything, small amounts of citrus and pine, but still plenty of lager character. Earthy malt aspect while remaining plenty light in the mouthfeel. Biscuit/cracker malt stays light, carbonation and hops stay lively. Plenty grassy. While Pilsner Urquell has been seemingly dumbed down over the last decade or so, this is a great alternative if you fell in love with that beer in the 80s/90s but don't get moved by it so anymore.

The hops stay alive and kickin' throughout the entire mouthfeel. Prickly, pithy, snappy. Always herbal. Plenty of bitterness. I'm not sure if these are just a bunch of noble hops of or not, but they are pretty potent, without obscuring what makes this a lager. Dry, hoppy, lagery.

There is not really an appropriate category under the BJCP for this, so I just rated it in terms of my enjoyment.

Appearance: Light, pale copper; clear. 2 fingers of light tan head, rocky. Ample, continuous carbonation with decent 1/8" retention. Outstanding lacing.

Aroma: Light, tart citrus. Smells like an APA. Really is a pleasant, hoppy, clean aroma.

Taste: Light, dry, clean arrival. Dry & salty across mid-palate. Solid, but not overpowering bitterness. Super-clean finish.

Mouthfeel: Light-to-mid weight. Crisp, clean, astringent.

Overall: This starts out like an APA, then when you expect that malt backbone to come in at the end, it just drops off. Despite that, it doesn't feel out of balance the way many west-coast IPA's do. Instead, it just feels sort of empty. Beautiful to look at & smell, and would certainly be a go-to for a hoppy session beer; but if drinking just one, it leaves a lot wanting.
