Pours out a clear copper color with a large two finger white head (served in a 14 oz. pilsner). Head is near perfect as it clings to the glass till the last sip.

The aroma is dominated with pine and grapefruit bitterness. There is not much balance. But, from an ex hophead, this would be perfect.

The taste is again dominated with pine and citrus hops bitterness. The finish is dry with bitterness lingering on the tongue.

I really enjoyed this lager. But, because of the aggressive IPA style hops there is really no style to compare this beer to. Overall a solid brew for the hophead in all of us.

Crystal-clear dark amber body with a thick, chunky, white head; lots of clumps of foam and lacing on the glass. Nice mixture of cereal grain and pine and citrus hop aroma. The taste is light in the malt flavors with a heavier focus on hop bitterness; light, honey dew melon fruitiness. Medium bodied with a crisp, clean, dry finish.

This beer goes down easily with its lager lightness and relatively mild malt grain flavors. The hop aroma and flavor character provide the real character and uniqueness to this brew. It's not as aggressively hoppy like a West coast IPA nor as smooth as a classic Czech or German styled pilsner yet does a good job of combining these styles in an approachable way. No, it probably won't blow anyone's mind who likes a classic IPA or pilsner style by itself (well, maybe the pilsner lovers may find more in common with this hybrid brew), yet I'd wager most people wouldn't turn down having another if given a chance. Fine and refreshing.

12 ounce bottle poured into a pint glass.

A - Pours a golden color with some haziness with a firm long lasting white head.

S - A burst of pine and citrus hops.

T - Citrus, particularly grapefruit as well as some pine with some malt in the background.

M - Very rich with excellent carbonation.

O - Really great hop flavor, especially in a beer with such moderate ABV. This is a great thirst quencher and I intend to use it as such.

Best by Aug 2014 at 45 degrees into standard pint glass
Aroma of faint citrus
Head small (2 cm), white, creamy with small rocks, mostly diminishing into 3 mm layer
Lacing good – nearly complete rings
Body yellow with slight haze
Flavor starts as a typical lager, with the white grapefruit bitterness overriding the malt backbone. However, the hop presence is more marked than in the standard lager, ending in an astringent chalkiness.
Palate light to medium, watery, carbonation lively

A solid “meh”, not too exciting lager with a little more hops than most, but still not close to an IPA.
