Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium coppery amber with a thin white head that dissipates to patches. Aroma of sweet biscuit malt, light piney and grassy hops. Flavor is biscuit malt, grassy hops with light piney and citrus elements. Finishes with grapefruit and citrus hop bitterness and citrus rind. Medium bodied. Exactly what is expected from a India pale lager, with a classic lager body with distinctive grassy hops with piney and light resinous notes. The hops are well balanced with the crackery malt. A little of the distinctive Boston Beer light butteriness in the finish.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass, best by June 2013. This pours a clear yellow / light golden color with a large off white head. The smells are very crisp and of nice grassy and floral hops, a very nice smelling beer. The feel is medium to light mid carbonation. The taste is pretty good alight crisp grassy, and hoppy taste. This is a very good lager.

Pale amber with lumpy pitted craggy head.
Grapefruit, papaya, and skunk on the nose.
Tart, flinty grain sack with lemon zest and grapefruit peel hops.
Crisp, slight chew, dry.

Strange creature: Cali-hopped lager. Needs to be colder than an IPA. I cold see killing this in the summer.

Purchased in a mixed 12 pack, the new Spring thaw mixer out this year.
Pours a clean golden tone, good carbonation.Head is also light, medium, and nice to look at.
Smells of lime, grapefruit rind, touch of orange, biscuit malt, pepper, light bread.
Flavor is upfront and center grapefruit. Biscuit malts, pepper, add a nice background supporting role.
Tons of citrusy goodness, especially for a 5% beer
Pretty surprised at this brew.Much better than expected. Something I would/will buy again.. usually not the case for me when it comes to Sam Adams beer
And for the category it falls in? American pale lager..i.e..BMC bullshit..this really blows the competition away.
