From the 12 fl. oz. bottle dated March (2014?). Sampled on August 17, 2013.

It has a slightly murky medium amber-orange pour with a silky, soft off-white head. Evocative carbonation.

Interesting aroma of malts, grains, and tropical fruits. The hops are not as up front as they are on the taste, which I will get to.

Medium body with a slight creaminess.

There is a vague butterscotch note on the taste at first but it is quickly overtaken by the earthy hops and tropical fruitiness. Uniquely enjoyable for a pale lager.

poured 12oz bottle into snifter. Best by December 2013.

A - Clear light amber orange with 2 finger white cap. Thick collar remains through out the session and rings of lacing line the glass.

S - Big sweet notes of malt, cracker, bread, honey dominate. Mixed in are some light citrus and pine hops. Grain and straw are also present.

T - Starts off with a sweet malt character, with some cracker, bread, and honey. Grains, yeast and straw transition into a light hoppiness with citrus and pine. Finishes as a dry, lightly hopped lager.

M - Crisp, slick, oily with a lighter body and great carbonation. A bit dry and bitter on the finish.

O - Nice beer from SA given the price. I enjoyed it.

Pours a clear darkish amber with a bright white head.

The smell is citrus, yeasty, smell like what you would expect from a lager with extra hops in it.

The taste is citrus, a little sweet, finishing slightly bitter, tastes like what you would expect from an extra hoppy lager.

The mouthfeel is light with medium carbonation.

This was a very tasty beer, one of the best sam adams beers in my opinion.

12oz bottle into a pilsner glass
Best before: Dec 13

A: Pours a crystal clear golden amber with 3 fingers width of white head. Lots of carbonation bubbles can be seen rising to the top of the glass. Head has excellent retention and leaves lots of honeycomb lacing.

S: Malty, lager yeast, hop spice, faint citrus.

T: Matly, citrus rind, orange, lemon lime. Decent bitterness.

M/D: Medium body, crisp and clean finish, drinkability is average.

O: Overall, pretty good. Better than I thought it was going to be actually, not because I am a Sam Adams hater (which I am not), but because I tend to not like lager styles. This is a tasty beer though. I wouldn't seek it out but I may drink it again if its the only non BMC on tap somewhere.
