Pours into a standard pint glass a clear copper color with a thinner white head that leaves a sheet of lace as it settles pretty quickly.Aromas of herbal/leafy hops and faint pine from the juniper berries,a dryer malt base, pretty pedestrian.Flavors are on the dryer side with herbal hops and pine oils standing out, again ho hum but not a drain pour by any means. The juniper plays a role but the beer is somewhat basic, again not a drain pour just pretty average.

Decent IPA from Sam Adams. Light amber body with average beige head and nice lacing. Aroma is orange/citrus and pine. Taste is mildly bitter hops and slight malt taste on the palate. Better than expected.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance had a slightly clear copper/bronze colored body with a full two finger white foamy head that rises a bit above the glass and dies within two minutes leaving some decent speckled clingy lacing gracing the sides of the glass The smell had piney hops, juniper with some toasted malt. The taste was resinous sweetness that comes across with the juniper pretty well, sweet sticky aftertaste and finish. The palate was about a light to medium, mostly sessionable, carbonation comes across smoother than most AIPA’s but still good for the most part, and for me. Overall, this was a good AIPA that I could come back to.

Pours a clear beautiful amber producing 2+ fingers of beige, frothy, chunky, somewhat lasting head that leaves an excellent coating of webby lace. Aroma is sweet caramel malt, floral, grapefruit & some pine hops backed by juniper. Taste is caramel malt/grapefruit & pine hops nicely balanced with sweet caramel becoming dominate in the finish but rapidly transitioning to a hoppy bitterness that intensifies slightly in the aftertaste. The juniper hint (never prominent enough to be considered more than a hint) initiates at mid sip becoming most evident in the finish and lingering into the aftertaste. There are some subdued floral hints surfacing throughout the sip which may be in fact part of the Juniper. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation, silky but a little oily in the finish, with some astringency developing late in the aftertaste.

Gold to copper in color with an inch of frothy tan head. The aroma is of piney hops and fragrant juniper. I taste very fresh and invigorating piney hops and juniper. The mouth offers a cooling sensation from the juniper and is otherwise dry and crisp.

This IPA pours a copper hue with a thin rocky white head and slightly more carbonation than the average Sam Adam’s beer. The smell is a little citrusy with hints of lemon and grapefruit and a little sweet with a caramel malt scent. The initial taste has a caramel character, but it is quickly taken over by fairly astringent grapefruit and pine flavors. This is surprisingly hoppier than I would have pictured a mass produced east coast IPA. It’s not quite up to the California hop levels, but it’s pretty hoppy. IPA lovers would probably find this to be an adequate mass produced beer if they weren’t such a pretentious bunch. IPAs are not my favorite style though and I find this to be a little boring with uninspired bitterness to really excite me. I definitely expected worse though, so in a way it’s still kind of a pleasant surprise.
