This pours a pinkish/red color with a slight, light pink head. There is a strong aroma of sweet cherries. The taste is smooth to the point where there is almost no carbonation. There isn't much to let you know this is a beer, as it drinks and taste more like a cherry desert drink. Drinks very smooth and tastes delicious. This is either a hit or miss with the beer geek crowd.

A: The beer is hazy dark rosé in color and has a slight amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short white head that quickly died down, leaving delicate lacing on the surface and a collar consisting of large bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of sweet, dark cherries are present in the nose—similar to what you would expect from a cherry cough drop.
T: The taste is similar to the smell but has more pronounced flavors of dark cherries and a moderate amount of sweetness.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a low to moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is easy to drink but seems like you having a liquid version of a cherry cough drop instead of a beer, so it might not be appealing to everyone.

330 mL bottle pours a clear red color with a nice cap of soft pink head. Retention and lace are both average.
Nose is cherry juice and Kool-Aid. Not much in the way of malt, sourness or yeast.
Taste is definitely cherry-laden. It tastes very much like the bottled cherry juice in the supermarkets but with carbonation. Really has very little beer character. Thats not to say it doesnt taste good...because it does. Just very one-dimensional and not beer-like at all.

Color- dark pink lemonade. Full head.
Aroma- sweet and tart cherry candy.
Taste- starts sweet with mild cherry, very fine and gentle carbonation gently balancing the sweetness in the middle, with spices including cinnamon near the end (remind me of German Gluwein spices but more gentle), finishing with a honey dipped cherry sweetness. A good dessert beer.
Poured from 330 ml bottle into a Liefmans Goudenband glass (my preferred all purpose beer tasting glass). Tasted June 2014.

A red beer with a very fast settling head. Almost no head left after 2 minutes. Nice color.
Smell of sweet, gummibear cherries. Very sweet and syrupy. Like the preserved cherries on pastry.
Taste is sweet and has an artificial cherry taste. No complexity. Mouthfeel is quite thick and drinkability is low. The sweetness is lingering. Although I am not a big fan of the style, this beer lacks any of the fresh, sour and fruity tastes normally found in these beers.

Poured into a goblet.
A pour of average strength yields a finger of pink frothy head. The body is nearly the exact color of fresh raspberries. Slightly cloudy.
Aromas of cherry candy, fruit juice, and cherry syrup. This smells good, but not like a traditional kriek.
The flavor is not as sweet as the nose indicated, which I find a pleasant surprise. Acid and sugar are not quite in balance with the whole feel leaning towards sugar, but still the overall impression is balance. Cherry candy is predominant.
Conclusion: Very much like liquid cherry candy in a good way. Not like a real kriek or like "cough syrup" as other reviewers have mentioned (also not like fresh cherry juice either). This is a fruit beer, not a traditional kriek, and if viewed as such I think it is quite good. Don't expect Cantillon!

Poured out of a 12 oz bottle into a Boulevard Smokestack tulip glass. No discernible 'drink by' or 'bottled on' date.
Appearance - Body is a rich, dark pinkish red, like grapefruit flesh. A finger or so of foamy, cotton-candy colored head. Silky, but fleeting lace.
Smell - Aroma of cherry juice with hints of cinnamon candy and a touch of vinegary edge hiding in the background.
Taste - Sweet and sour to start off, progressing into more of a cloying sweetness and followed by a twinge of sour on the finish. It seems like most of the sour that is present is a result of the natural flavor from the cherries. A hint of dryness as well.
Mouthfeel - Pleasant carbonation up front morphs into more of a syrupy feel, but with a hint of the feel of a rouge sparkling wine
Overall, probably not a "kriek" I'll have again. To much sweet, although for someone who does like sweeter beers, this one is probably pretty tasty. The body was full, and the aroma was enticing.

Served in an Ohio State shaker pint glass.
I wanted a fruit beer, so I went for the new, cheap one. Sue me. This stuff pours a clear garnet-tinged sunrise ruby topped by a half-finger of pink foam. The nose comprises slightly tart, slightly dank cherry, a hint of excess sweetness, and a hint of raspberry way in the background. The taste brings in more of the same, a hint of tartness up front tailing into vaguely sweet cherry-ness. The body is a light medium, with a very light moderate carbonation and a slightly syrupy feel. Overall, a nice enough cherry thing, especially for the relatively low price, but nothing I'm likely to be picking up very often in the future.
