If you like Vietnamese chow and craft beer..this is a must visit spot in Houston.
Awesome vibe, 25 mostly local craft options on tap, many pairing well with the food, super tasty Vietnamese food, had a local Hefeweizen that paired great w the Vermicelli noodles and tofu bowl, and a bangin' bahn Mi sammy for later in the day.
Roomy indoors, with several tables, a few high hats, friendly staff….large TVs with sports on, plus some very pleasant out door space for when the weather is cooperative, plenty of easy parking....well worth a visit and I loved the tasty/spic 4.5 rated food.

Really good Vietnamese food and a solid beer selection! Not many taps but they are usually local focused with a few strong regional beers. Friendly staff, good food.

I have been wanting to go here for about 2 months and finally pulled the trigger. Really glad I did. They have a pretty good tap selection as someone mentioned below, and it is pretty diverse. Got to try out a couple of beers I haven't had. Unfortunately didn't stay long and have any of the higher ABV offerings because I had to be somewhere shortly. Very good Vietnamese offerings, there are 5 or 6 different Bahn mi offerings, I had the fried pork and my wife had the grilled, asked for extra jalapenos and some pate for mine and that wasn't an issue. Waitress was very helpful in ordering apps, as we wanted to sample what she thought were her best. I will definitely be heading back to spend more time on the patio. I am always depressed when I go to one of these places because I just want something like this in my neck of the woods.

Probably the best all around beer spot/restaurant in Houston. They do not have the most beers and they don't always get some of the more limited releases, but they do get some really dank beers and have a good selection of beers on tap as well as bottles and bombers (in the last week they have had some Cherry Funk, Bible Belt and Prairie Bomb on tap).

The decor is nice but unpretentious. The food is delicious and incredibly well priced (especially for lunch). The people outside of the guy who is in charge of the beer are not incredibly knowledgeable about the beer, but interested in learning and more than willing to let you sample the gambit before you actually order your beer.

They have plenty of TVs around so you can catch whatever game you want to watch while you grub and toss back a few. They also have some incredible specials to look out for, like the Friday reverse happy hour. Seriously if you can tell me anywhere in any major city where you can grab a good pint of craft beer on a Friday night for $3 then I will revisit my review of this fantastic inner-loop treasure.

Hughie's is a Vietnamese/American pub grub restaurant and beer bar. All paneled wood on the inside, with a few unobtrusive TV's turned to sports. A tiny L bar that does not seat very many people. Booths and tables scattered throughout, and a shaded patio with picnic tables outside. It has this great worn in almost dive vibe, but without being a dive at all. If that makes sense.

Service is incredibly friendly, and really knowledgeable about the different Vietnamese food options. Not all bartenders are up to snuff on selection, style, etc. Though the owner is on top of things, and was quizzing the staff last time I visited. The owner is always willing to chat, and is a blast to gab with.

Food is great. Their special Banh Mi is one of my favorite sandwiches in Houston. With cold steamed pork, chicken pate, this incredible fresh backed baguette, and pickled veggies. The spring rolls, and dumplings are amazing as well. Plenty of other good items on the menu, and everything is so well priced.

On to the beer...20 rotating taps. There is an emphasis on Houston and Texas breweries. Karbach, Saint Arnold of coarse, and they will get some specialty releases from them as well. Though Live Oak Hefe, 512 Pecan Porter. Other national brands like Prairie Artisan, Firestone Walker, the Deschutes Fresh Squeeze was spot on when I had it the other day. The bottle list is about 50. Again, well selected with only a few macros.

An excellent spot to grab a bite, and the tap list is no joke. They can hold their own against most of the higher volume beer bars in town. A great down to earth, unpretentious hidden gem.
