Pours brown with tinges of ruby and purple. Smells fruity and sour like lemon yogurt. Used a Teku glass for sampling.

Sour cherry note predominates. The sourness is a bit on the mild side but it makes for a very friendly beer. Hints of clove and black pepper linger toward the finish. Given the sweet and sour nature, this finishes quite dry. Medium-light in body. Carbonation could be a touch more heightened to liven up the mouthfeel a bit more. But as it stands, it is a nice food beer. We enjoyed vegetarian stir-fry noodles and it complimented but cut through the soy flavor nicely.

From a 750 ml bottle into a tulip glass.

A-The brew is a medium, nutty brown with ruby-red highlights. It is more clear than many oud bruins or Flemish reds. The two-finger-tall light-tan head drops quickly and leaves a little ring of lace. I cannot see any carbonation.

S-The smell is full of juicy cherry. I mean, it smells like real cherries, which is good, I guess, but it also gives it a sort-of stale aroma. There is also a bit of vanilla and a woody, lactic funkiness. There is not a lot of acid or vinous smell here and fruity sweetness dominates.

T-The taste, like the smell, is full of sweet, juicy cherry. There is more acid noticeable on the palate, but the acid doesn't really add complexity or balance the cherry flavors; rather, it just bites on the throat. There is also a touch of malty prune and raisin, and a drying woody flavor on the finish.

M-The feel is pretty standard for the style with lower carbonation levels, light to medium heft, and a drying finish.

O-This beer gets props for tasting like real cherry juice, but I'm not sure that real cherry juice flavor makes for a good beer in this instance. As noted above, it tastes more like a out-of-date kid's juice box than a Flanders Red Ale. A little more useful acidity might have helped here.

Sampled from a 750ml bottle. Nice appearance with a reddish brown color and a moderate beige head. Lively. Aroma has fruit and a hint of the sour/tart/funk to come. The sour/tart/funky flavor is balanced and well behaved yet complex and inspiring. I really enjoyed it from start to finish.

A: The beer is hazy light reddish brown in color and has a light amount of carbonation. It poured with a finger high beige head that died down but consistently left a thin head covering the surface and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of sourness and cherries are present in the nose.
T: The taste is similar to the smell and has a mixture of light sourness from the brett and hints of sweetness from the cherries.
M: It feels a bit more than light-bodied and is mostly tart on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer isn't very sour so it would make for a good beer for someone to try that is trying the style for the first time. There's just enough cherries and sweetness to prevent this from being very sour.
