L- Poured this one slowly and in the end had to pour from a greater height to encourage any head at all to form. Unexpected as similar beers I've had this week or two have rushed to fill the glass with foam. So a simpler/faster pour but 'not as pretty'. Also plenty of chunky sediment came into the pour near the end so it's highly cloudy. There's plenty of sludge left on the bottom of the bottle too, so I reckon likely unavoidable this pours notably cloudy.
S- It has a piquant edge, like a bright fruit note. The closest I think is sour apple.
T- For 1 second I thought 'Yes, it is a bit cidery too' but then boom! the pungent depths kicked in. It still has an apple note, but now with the high ABV% clearly revealed it's as if a shot glass of apple brandy has been added to a more mainsteam heavier beer. Striking as I've had several Belgian 8-9 ABV%s this week and even that level is often well concealed into the balance; not this one, it's 9.5% and will clearly know it. Beyond all of that there is decent hopping and a balancing sweet note (not at all OTT, it seems in balance).
F- It certainly has a richness, it's hefty, it would better make a slow-sippin' winter beer for me.
O- It's pungent on Feel, ABV% and Taste. I'd suggest drinking it while it remains chilled, as it warms it's sweetening some and just now nearing a bit too much for me. I've enjoyed trying it but it might be an example of 'too much of a good thing' to become a regular/repurchase.
Bought from BeersOfEurope (UK) BB: March-2021 330ml bottle essentially the same as illustrated above, just the neck labe is now larger and also carries a smaller repeat version of the main image on the lable.

Color is between blond and amber, with a white head. Some honey and orange flavors. Very decent abbey tripel.

A: amber colour, thick white head that stays there
S: loads of fruit, pineapple peach, hints of hops and spices maybe clove
T: a lot of sweetness coming form the fruits, and only the slightest hints of hops and malts
M: medium body, good carbonation, not too alcoholic
O: good beer that drinks really easily

Bottle served into a self-titled stem-tulip. De Proef seems rather seriously committed to glassware for every individual beer. Even by Belgian standards, it's quite committed indeed. Reviewed from notes taken in Belgium in June 2010.

A: Pours a three finger head of soft cream, good thickness, and great retention. Body colour is a hazy orange-gold.

Sm: Alcohol, buried fruit esters, hops, and musty cream. A moderate strength aroma.

T: Hops! Orange esters, floral hops, bittering hops, full-bodied barley, and wondrously layered malts throughout. A satisfying malty climax ends this well-balanced and nicely built brew.

Mf: Smooth and wet. Complements the flavours of the body. Carbonation and thickness are not ideal.

Dr: High ABV, easy to drink, and fairly priced. Still, it's underwhelming overall. Quite average by local standards.

This is a nice beer. It's like a blond, but than with a lot more alcohol.

Top is great. Starting with little, equal foam, ending with big bubbles, that stick on the glass.

Smell has a good depth. On one side it has the bready/malty taste that is well known from this kind of beer. But there is some freshness (apple? citrus/apricot?) that makes this beer better than many strong blondes.

Taste is quite sweet, with a touch of bubblegum (HubbaBubba), but also a bitterishness that makes the picture complete.

The alcohol is very well hidden. It lacks a little in drinkability. Mouthfeel is okay, but could be a very little less sweet. I enjoyed it, but I'm not sure if I would buy this one again.

Overall: interesting beer.

330ml bottle. Tulip glass. Golden color, foggy appearance. White, small bubbled, creamy head & nice retention. Pineapple, candy & spiced aromas. Sweet malts, ripe pineapple notes, at first sip. Gentle, spicy & dry warming alcohol. Full body, medium to high carbonation. Slightly astringent finish, hints of orange zest. Malty, fruity, quite sugary aftertaste. Drinkability is ok.
