33cl bottel poured into my struise glass

Pours very deep red/briwn , looks almost black when it’s not against the light. Fine, creamy, yellow-white head that stays for a long time.
Aroma has roasted malts, lots of yeast, chocolate, some oak and alcohol. Medium carbonation, okay mouthfeel. Flavour is quite roasted, some slight yeast. A bit of chocolate, raisins and spiciness in the finish.
Okay, though is ain’t that special

I gave the bottle a good turn while pouring out, which resulted in a nice big creamy grey brown head. This diminished unfortunately to ¼ of it’s original size. I used an oversized wineglass (well that’s what it’s called on this website), a Val-Dieu glass.
The colour is a very dark brownish red. A strong odour is noticeable, it reminds me of Boerken. Strong malts and sweet tones: honey, raisins. Some mouldiness too.
Taste is sweet and strong malty. A lot of carbonation. Honey taste combined with dry malt and alcohol in the back. Taste evolves to dried prunes and figs.
Aftertaste is dry, figs primarily and malt.

Not bad, not super good.

Pours a very firm thick off-white head, with prolific small bubbles rising and continuing, long after the head dissipates. The appearance is a bit cloudy but even.

The nose seems to be burnt caramel and fermented apple of sorts-- interesting, not overly captivating but not unappealing. Yet, the flavor is a bit watery, with the addition of the above tastes-- a bit of a paradigm or enigma.

The taste is good, with the slight sweetness of old apples, caramel and a light alcohol-tinny-ness from bottling. There is a really attention-grabbing taste that we are attempting to identify. For me, it reminds me of childhood scents from the 1950's in old general-stores-- sort of a woody cedar or something-- possibly an indication of the casks used?

My bottle is stamped the 19th of August 2004, purchased in Belgium in January 2006 and being consumed as I write.

The alcohol is 7.5%.

Bottled 19-09-04 BB 2 years after filling. Overwelming head despite a carefull poorout. Head is lasting very well and a nice brown beercollor that's 100% clear. Nose is plumbfruity, dark candy, carramellic malts also as there is litle sourness and a wheaty carracter. Litle carbage with it though what comes out more as the brew warms and more flavour is shown. Taste is dry, sourish, alcoholic and having a hard and litle hanging bitterness. Lots of taste is overpowered by the enormous carbonisation witch gives this brew a litle empty and watery mouthfeel. Not my cup of tea but not a bad brew and well drinkable.
