750ml bottle. Poured into a St Bernardus goblet after a really strong cork-popping. Decent head of fine, small bubbles that seem to do a very good job of replenishment as I see quite a few streamers from the bottom and sides of the glass. Hazy gold body with a few tiny flecks of sediment floating around. Attractive beer.

Candied pear and apple in the nose. Smells very sweet. Maybe a hint of nag champa if I dig. Starts to get a little solvent-y as it warms, so I'll ding it a point.

As is often the case with this style, it may smell sweet but isn't really at all on the palate. Fleeting hit of honeycomb and coconut that goes to the requisite yeasty, dry, biting peppery finish. Relatively bitter, though from hops or phenolics I'm not sure, probably both. I'm kind of surprised that this was brewed at De Proef, because it doesn't have any of the funky fruit esters the house yeast often throws off. This might be the cleanest beer I've had that was brewed at De Proef. Except for the idea that I don't find it very fruity, this could be a benchmark tripel, pretty much. I'll rate it only slightly above average, though, due to my thinking it could use more fruit flavors. Also seems to come unglued a little as it warms with too much alcohol presence.

Excellent smooth but effervescent mouthfeel.

I saw myself rating this higher, but I'm not crazy about the way the alcohol presents itself as it warms. At a colder temp, I thought it was very good, but come on, I don't necessarily want to huff a 7.5% Tripel.

750ml into a tulip. Absolutely stupid ridiculously difficult to open plastic cork, impossible without pliers as far too many are that use these f.u. cheap ass bottle sealers - how much more can a cork cost? simply stupid decision

Lightly hazed orange amber with an off white minor head, minor lacing. Surprising amount of tiny floaties given the bottle has been undisturbed.

Aroma is of over ripe pulpy light skinned summer fruits and honey as if about to turn.

Flavor is nondescript . . . . . Zero dry. Zero bitter. Zero phenols. No accents, no highlights, yet works fine as a bland, lightly sweet, won't interfere with any foods type brew. Medium bodied smooth mouthfeel.

11.2 oz bottle, into Pretty Things wine glass.

Really dark for a Tripel. Foamy off white head that holds quite well. Hazed amber colored body. Good carbonation to it.

Smells clean yeast aroma. Surprising that there is no booze in the aroma. A slight sweetness to smell.

I feel crazy to say this, but the flavor undeniably reminds me of Anderson Valley's Crema Cerveza. Similar sweetness to the beer. Smooth unexpectedly full mouthfeel. Head really plays a nice role in the mouthfeel. Aftertaste of Jaggery or some creamy sugar source.

Good beer, a bit strange when one is expecting a traditional Belgian Tripel.

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle.

The beer pours a hazy yellow color with a white head. The aroma is full of bread and wheat, with a little bit of yeast thrown in. The flavor is also fairly basic, with some wheat, bread and white pepper. There is not much going on, but nothing is offensive. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Poured from the bottle into a tulip glass.

A slow pour produces a sudsy orange and white like head, shampoo in appearance with short staying power. Body color is clear with a slight cloudiness and a gorgeous ruby grapefruit orange color. Lots of angular straight pinhead white sized bubbless coming up, great lookin tripel.

A giant whiff of white grape juice hits the nose. Slightly sweet, it smells like grape must. It's really nice and wonderful and very impressive, I just wish there was more on the nose.

Taste is surprisngly weak. Slightly hot but a real sharp gaseous and wet quality to this. Malt chewy character and sweetness is non existent and replaced with a gaseous flatened white wine grape, and sharp fresh club soda.

Overall this is really disappointing based on looks and smell I was expecting something much better than this.

Poured from 11.2 oz brown bottle into a Duvel tulip. No freshness date. Received as a gift from my sister Tami.

A: Peachy-yellow with 1-finger nearly white head which falls away quickly and leaves a lot of floaties but not a lot of lace.

S: A very lush fruity aroma with some lightly grassy, herbal hops. The light fruitiness includes peach, apple skin, and white grape. The alcohol is backing with a berry presence.

T: The zesty yeast spiciness is a welcome addition as the fruit is very sweet and less nuanced than in the aroma. The hopping is token herbal/floral. The alcohol is a little dull in the finish and prevents this guy from moving up in rating.

M: The carbonation is heavy but adds crispness to an otherwise heavy, dull finish. The body is medium.

O: Not a bad beer, especially if you like your tripels on the fruitier side. The spiciness of the yeast is a nice touch but, for a relatively low ABV tripel, the alcohol lands with a thud in this beer and pulls the whole enterprise down.
