Pours dark brown, one finger white frothy head that turns in time into a nice bubbly lacing and a thin film on the surface.
Smells great, lots of dark fruit, maple, caramel, candi sugar, faint chocolate, Belgian spices and some warm alcohol.
Complex taste: dark fruit up front, with figs, raisin, plum, some extra sour cherries, all smothered with molasses, caramel and some maple syrup. The sweet start is balanced very fast by some heavily roasted malts, almost burnt, imposing a certain bitterness a bit early on. Spices still break through, with licorice, orange peel and clove. Bitter in the end also, some extra bittering hops present, and some ash, faint chocolate and dark bread get through to the aftertaste.
Medium body, low carbonation, a bit light for a quad, alcohol hidden nicely.
Not a top ten quad, but a strong contender, especially if you like a bigger bitterness in you Belgian beers.

In a tulip at cellar temperature. Production date of 09/10/13.

Prearis pours a dark, somewhat brackish burgundy with a creamy three-finger head billowing up high. Carbonation streams are visible and ample.

I smell maple, cherries, prunes, raisins, and vanilla in the aroma. There also might be a bit of a spicy dark fruitcake thing going on.

Cherries, figs, chocolate, and licorice are the initial flavors I pick up. Skip to the finish and there's a mix of somewhat bitter, earthy leatheriness and some fairly boozy breadiness. It's quite roasty, too.

The feel is pretty good. Filled out with medium to high carbonation.

An unusual quadruple that I could mistake for a fruity oak barrel-aged imperial stout if I took a sip blindfolded.

Color- cloudy brown ruby. Huge head.

Aroma- coffee, chocolate, dates with hint of hazelnut.

Taste- Starts with a complex mild blend of Christmas cake, raisins, and nuts smoothed by chocolate softness in the mid-body then finishes with a beautiful roasted malt with subtle chocolate coffee tones.

Poured from a corked 750 ml bottle into a Liefmans Goudenband glass (my preferred all purpose beer tasting glass). Tasted 8/3/2013.

Appearance:
Dark brown body with fermentation floating around making this hazy and murky, the head is a light tan color, very thick and billowy and last for a very long time. The lacing is very thick and absolutely wonderful to look at.
Smell:
The aroma is filled with dark fruits, fig, grape, and apple.
Taste:
Malty and sweet, orange zest and brown sugar are the main flavors here. I do pick up some mild raisin tastes.
Mouthfeel:
Crisp and plenty of carbonation, its medium bodied and the alcohol is well presented in this quad.
Overall:
Smooth, relaxing and easy to drink, this is a good quad, maybe not as complex as others I’ve had but definitely very smooth.

750 ml bottle into chalice, bottled on 10/9/2013. Pours moderately hazy deep ruby brown color with a 1 finger dense khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big cherry, orange peel, raisin, plum, pear, apple, red grape, caramel, brown sugar, toast, brown bread, light chocolate, clove, herbal, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and fruity/earthy yeast notes; with good strength. Taste of big orange peel, raisin, plum, pear, apple, cherry, red grape, caramel, brown sugar, toast, brown bread, clove, pepper, light chocolate, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Moderate earthy spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of orange peel, raisin, plum, pear, apple, cherry, red grape, caramel, brown sugar, toast, brown bread, clove, pepper, light chocolate, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity of fruity/spicy yeast and dark/bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/yeast flavor balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and fairly slick mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is an incredible quadrupel! All around awesome complexity and balance of fruity/spicy yeast and dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to sip on for the big ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.

Poured a dark, ruby red-brown body with decent head and lace patches. The aroma is one of roasted and sweet malts as well as yeast and typical Belgian yeast/spice but not much more complex. The beer hides the ABV and that is great, real smooth and medium bodied, easy to drink, great balance of sugary sweetness and touches of spice and dark fruits (getting something in the figs or raisins area). This is an easy to drink and quite relaxing quad but I just took off points for lack of complexity within the style.

On-tap at Mugs Alehouse, Brooklyn, NY

A: The beer is very dark brownish red in color (black when viewed from afar). It poured with a quarter finger high off white head.
S: Moderate aromas of roasted malts are present in the nose.
T: Much like the smell, the taste has flavors of roasted malts along with lots of Belgian yeast.
M: It feels medium- to full-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is rather drinkable because it hides its alcohol very well. I couldn't pick up any flavors of the underlying Quadrupel.
