Served in a small flute from the tap.

Appearance: Thing black Motorola with a tan head rising roughly about one quarter of an inch off the Body. Settles quick to almost nada with slightly sticky lacing.

Smell: Smells of grapes and light chocolate, might be lighter with the potency but seriously a robust scent.

Taste: Deep wine and chocolate infused with notes of peppers and/or maybe a lighter hot sauce. It's quite spicy compared to any stout period. I like the difference toøl is making but very few people would appreciate this complex concoction.

Mouth: Medium carbonation and from my perspective average stickiness. Comes and goes, I personally don't see it overpowering many thing you're eating it with.

Overall: I'm on a imperial stout tasting binge and it's really hard to stop with all the fine bars here in Reykavic. This brew was good but I feel like going back to my past beer, definitely the one that tingles the palates and worth grabbing if your craving that one brew to stand out. Salud.

A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a quarter finger high dark tan head that died down, leaving some bits of lacing on the surface and a thick collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of chocolate and cocoa beans are present in the nose along with some hints of chili peppers.
T: Similar to the smell, the taste starts off with flavors of chocolate and cocoa beans and slight hints of associated sweetness and sherry from the barrel aging. Hints of spicy chili peppers become noticeable towards the finish. The sherry becomes a little stronger as the beer warms up.
M: It feels nearly full-bodied and smooth on the palate with a low to moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This stout is remarkably drinkable for a 12% abv beer as it nearly masked all of the alcohol from the taste; the only thing that gets in the way somewhat is the fuller mouthfeel. I think the chilies also lend to the drinkability as the seem to counter much of the sweetness that you would expect from the malts.

A: Black with a slightly rocky, beige/deep mocha head of slight retention, and some sticky lacing.
S: Mostly chocolate, some coffee in the background, but no trace of chilis - though it could be the age. There is a touch of wood and sherry, but faint.
T: Starts with a moderately-sweetened chocolate note, before the carbonation spreads faint, but present chili across the tongue. It is faint, but warm (not hot) especially in large enough swigs. It finishes like a bittersweet dark chocolate.
M: A bit lighter than medium bodied and fairly carbonated, while also a touch sticky to the lips. Also, might be the age but warmth is well hidden.
O: A fine BA stout, but not worth the import price versus domestic examples.

Bottle shared by ygtbsm94. Thanks Brad.

Served alongside the cognac version.

Black body with a thin, wispy, beige head. Chocolate and roast aroma with some char notes. Sweet and dry with tons of chocolate, finishing with warming alcohol. Distinctly European in style. Rich chocolate cake. I'm having difficulty picking out any chilis - perhaps they have faded. There is a subtle spice character throughout, however. Still, quite tasty. I give a slight nod to the cognac variant.

Pours black with a dark than head.
Nose shows coffee, cocoa, heavy bready malt, oatmeal and soft booze.
Very aggressive, heavy-hitting flavours. Massive roast, ashy notes, slightly solventy booze and liquorice. The roast and booze threaten to overwhelm everything else though. Some very soft chilli heat.
Nice creamy body.
