Well I'm not that upset about the labelling as this isn't the first Australian beer where "blonde" is used as beer terminology for "unchallenging". Hey, the "low carbohydrate" tag is a clear giveaway it will have no flavour. So, I tried with an open mind out of curiosity. Okay, there is virtually no smell or taste, with just a hint of cereal grain. I think it's fairly attractive though: it has a small well retained white head, quite good lacing, and although it's rather watery, the carbonation is quite well controlled unlike other CUB fizz monsters. Good to look at, diet conscious, pleasantly bubbly, but not much depth... blonde joke anyone? (649 characters)

Pale gold pour with a large but quickly fading head.
Aroma is pretty weak, with some grainy malt and cooked vegetables. Pretty bad. Some very faint grassy hops.
Very watery flavours with some cardboard and more cooked vegetables. Easy going but not nice.
Watery body. (267 characters)

It is what it is, and doesn't pretend to be something it's not. Mostly inoffensive. Grainy with some skunkiness, probably attributable to the green bottle, and maybe some pear. Almost flavorless, thin and watery, albeit light and refreshing, especially during a hot summer day (in January) overlooking a beautiful expanse of Bondi Beach while eating fish and chips.

Sidenote: beer is outrageously expensive in Australia (420 characters)

Pours a nice golden color with very little head, which fades away pretty quickly. Faint yeasty aroma, not much else in the way of smell. Not much in the way of flavor either. It really tastes like they just waved some malt over the kettle and forgot the hops completely. It tastes like nothing. Which I suppose is better than a bad taste, but still, I like my beer to at least pretend to be a real beer. Very little mouthfeel as well. Slightly carbonated water. I have to say it's fairly drinkable, if you're not looking for beer. But then, if you're not looking for beer, you should be drinking something else. (611 characters)

If you're looking to watch those love-handels, like Amstel, this may be something to consider. Otherwise, steer well clear of this awful brew.

Visually it's golden in colour and is void of lacing - the head is quick to dissapear after pour.

There's absolutey nothing worthy of note about the taste, except for the fact it's actually drinkable. It lacks flavour and proves to be very bland which is emphasised by it's cardboard-like aftertaste.

One positive, is that it's very easy to drink if you can put the taste (or lack there of) aside. (549 characters)

FINALLY!!! a low carb option from cub. and its double hopped! it must be, it says so on the bottle. ok, so lets get down to business.
surprising, big grassy aroma escapes the bottle. not bad, but that was about it. pretty bland once poured.
extremely pale clear yellow color with light carbonatoin. no head what so ever.
very sweet tatsing. getting very near being offensive. not much else to speak of as far as taste. where'd the hops go??
much more closely resembles candy than anything beer-like. guessing the name is just something to catch peoples attention, and all the tag lines on the bottle are more marketing madness. but hey, its low in carbs!! (659 characters)

Pale yellow lager with thin head and large bubbles. Medium carbonation.

Skunky, metallic, very light malt/hop odour.

Very light flavour with a slight touch of hops, making for a fairly easy drink with nothing of interest.

Low carb beers aren't much in the flavor department and this is par for the course. (308 characters)

A: Served a pale golden color with a nice full head and good lacing.

S: Bland aroma of mild grain and hint of sweetness.

T: Again, bland flavor of mild grain and bit of malt sweetness.

F: very light body, quite watery.

O: Just an Aussie version of a light beer. Nothing to see here, keep moving. (299 characters)

Pure Blonde is the go-to beer of a fair amount of carb-conscious Aussies, and it is retailed fairly widely on the back of Carlton’s substantial marketing budget. You will find it on tap at almost any drinking hole with little regard for beer connoisseurs.
L: Yellowy golden
S: Unpleasant to smell, if any smell at all.
T: Largely tasteless, quite bland.
F: Heavily carbonated, probably the brewer’s attempt to try and inject some level of excitement to this beer.
O: When faced with a line of macro beers, I would choose it, if only for its ‘low carb’ and well-marketed aesthetic appeal (Gives me a headache, but individual experiences will differ). Before my beer baptism of fire, this was one of my go-to beers, when I jumped on the ‘low carb’ bandwagon. I definitely steer clear of this beer unless it’s free. (826 characters)

355ml bottle poured into a pils glass by freshness date.

L:
Golden in color with decent head, well retention and left some good lace. There is full amount of active fizzy carbonation.

S:
Cereal, grain malt, a bit metallic, some pinch from hop, overall the smell is awful.

T:
So grainy and dull, I have found it hard to get along with pinch of grain which dominating all around, very light on hop side.

F:
The body is rather light, semi-smooth mouthfeel with some crisp by average amount of carbonation.

O:
To shortly summarize, avoid this, definitely not worth a try. (572 characters)
