I know a lot of people here have some negative views on the service but I have never experienced anything even remotely sub-par. Every time I have been there the waitress is back and forth plenty of times making sure we have ordered another round or whatnot. Even during IPA and Belgian fests the wait service has been fantastic, with servers even taking their time to hang out at the table to talk about the beers on the list (maybe I've just been lucky).

Onto the quality - very good, I've only once been served a bad beer (Stone smoked porter which was more sour than a lambic), and they promptly replaced it with another order.

The atmosphere is what I would look for in a beer bar - very relaxed (I'm usually there anywhere from 6-10pm on weekdays). The outside area is very nice to just sit back and have a beer or 2 with friends.

The selection makes this place one of the select few "good" beer bars in the general LA area. Their regular taps are usually filled by Stone (IPA, Smoked Porter, Arrogant Bastard), a small local Pasadena brewery Craftsman (not bad, give them a try), and some Sierra Nevada's, as well as other random things. Their bottle list is huge but I've never ordered from it. Draft selection is pretty reasonable, but the bottled selection is a little expensive for me, I'd rather buy them at a liquor store and drink them at home.

I don't ever get any food other than Chips, which they make very well.

2 thumbs up for Lucky B's. (1,472 characters)

I have liked this place a lot in the past few years. One of the few places I've been to that has had as many as 3-4 Russian River beers on tap at the same time, lots of good events, etc. HOWEVER, things change.

Most ales are served in a shaker glass which IF filled to the rim is 16 oz. but if there is 1/2 to 3/4 inch of head you are getting 12 oz. and at $8 a "pint" there are better places for a session. The selection brings me back for 1 now and then but no longer a place to stay. (487 characters)

This Lucky Baldwin's is located in Old Town Pasadena in an older building right off Colorado Blvd. The space is divided into several smaller sections divided by walls and hallways. I entered through the front, and eventually made my way towards the bar. My first impression was that this place had more of an authentic English pub feel than other establishments I visited.

They present your typical English pub fare. They have a nice rotating tap list. The day I visited they had 4 or 5 beers from Russian River. Since I didn't have Row 2 before that's what I really wanted to try that day. Unfortunately, the keg kicked in less than a day before my visit. I ended up ordering some bangers and mash with pint of Supplication and half pour of Linderman's Faro. The banger was tasty though a tad bit dry.

There was ample parking in the parking structure a few buildings down the street. I believe the first 90 minutes was free.

I enjoyed my visit and will return again. (970 characters)
