Picked this up at a Gas Station in Linn, Missouri when I passed through there a few months back. Never had anything from Bur Oak before and this was a nice introduction to them as it was a true unfiltered IPA that was the embodiment of the Midwest, since it didn't quite fit the bill of something from either coast.
Plenty of golden amber haze to this as the carbonation was on par with this beer's appearance. A nice head topped this off as the lacing was just as extensive and full, as most of it was concentrated in the middle of my pint glass. Tons of Caramel Malt, piney hops, weed, dankness, and white chocolate in the nose as the taste had plenty of body, earthy bitterness, and 420 to boot. Lots of earthy citrus, Chinook Hops, and full oats gave this plenty to proverbially and literally chew on as this really shone once it fully warmed up.
There was enough booze to be on par with everything else going on here, as I easily warmed up by the time I finished off this can. No date was to be found anywhere on the can but the prevalence of green found on the label was a hint as to what this would taste like. Really enjoyed this beer and if you like your beers full, green, and nuanced, you've come across your match here. This did the Burr Oak Tree proud!

Hazy gold with particulate and one finger head. Nothing crazy big on the nose, malt, spice, pine, floral, citrus, caramel, booze. The flavor is on the soapy side, following through on the nose. Strong but clear bitterness. Full mouthfeel without being syrupy sweet.

12oz can. Slightly hazed golden body with a frothy ivory head that covers the top of the glass in lacing. Aroma is floral/earthy/spicy/piney hops with biscuit and light caramel. Good flavors with hop notes of spicy & earthy pine, grapefruity citrus rind, floral grapefruit also; malt is biscuity with light caramel and some bread crust aspects. Medium body, very resinous, pungent bitterness on the finish. A good lower ABV DIPA making it drink more like an IPA.

Poured cold from 12-ounce can into a "snulip" glass. Appearance-wise, not much to be desired. Clear, dark amber colored body, with a thick, voluminous, long-lasting off-white head. This sample was a bit dated, but held up very nicely. Slightly malt forward as expected, with notes of cracker and light caramel up front and a grassy and floral undertone. The hop character was understated, again as expected; however, there is some pleasant bitterness on the back end and a hint of sweetness that lingers on the palate for a moment before fading to a mostly dry finish. Medium body and good carbonation give this a lighter feel, making it quite easy drinking for the ABV. Enjoy responsibly!

Okay. Had at shaved duck on draft. Would drink again but would not specifically seek out.

12-oz cans, 6-pack.
Pouring this beer into a rounded, snifter-like glass creates a visual effect unlike just about any beer I have poured: it looks like the bottom of a waterfall of frothy, beautiful, beer!
The mouthfeel is also impressive: very creamy.
The aroma has something interesting going on.
However, although the flavor is solid, the finish is where this beer disappoints; it leaves a somewhat awkward, tangy aftertaste.
I wasn't sure whether to score the overall as 3.75 or 4.00. I choose to put it at 4.00.
If they could just work on the aftertaste, this would easily be an incredible beer.
