A 320ml bottle with a BB of Sept 2012 (on the cap). Acquired from Chi Yip, an oriental specialist shop in York. The label is printed onto the bottle, and the ingredient list includes cereals/sugar.

Poured into a tulip pint glass. A clear, pale golden colour with good carbonation. Forms a decent head of creamy white foam that lasts for a minute or two before subsiding. Aroma of light malt with plenty of corn/overcooked veg and a hint of stewed hops. Slightly sweet. Deteriorates rapidly as it warms, resulting in an unpleasant DMS-laden nose.

Tastes of ultra-light malt with a mild, dry finish. Faint notes of corn and stewed veg. A subtle sweetness, with a hint of staleness and solvent in the background. A very mild bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, but watery and insubstantial. Slightly astringent. Aftertaste of corn/stewed veg.

Not good - doesn't come close to a decent pilsner. This is adjunct-laden crap, and the aroma/flavour fully reflect that. Bland and weak, with nasty off-flavours and a touch of solvent/alcohol. I can't imagine this being decent, even in the Philippines. Avoid.

Sampled from a dimpled German stein. Pours a clear and bright gold with a long lasting tight collar of rocky white foam, fresh grassy malty nose with some hay noted. Crisp and light, very clean with a nice residual hop bitterness...begs for another sip. Finishes clean too and on a hop note. Well made for sure...very nice warm weather session lager.

A - pale, translucent golden yellow with a soft, foamy, soapy, white head that has decent retention

S - grainy and sweet

T - grainy, sweet, corn, sugar in the finish, faint herbal bitterness

M - medium bodied, moderately carbonated

This is a clean, easy to drink beer, but it's not a good representation of the style. It's overly sweet, grainy, and ultimately, forgettable.

White gold with lots of bubbles and disappearing white froth. Slightly soapy herbal hops nose with musty oyster crackers.
Wonder bread malts with a bit of lemon zest and surprising hit of coriander leaf hops.
Papaya hint to end and slightly oily linger. Light, crisp, fizzy.

It's a shame to put this up against other pilsners; if it just called itself a standard lager, it would be quite nice. As it is, it's a poor example of the style. However, definitely distinct from the sweet All-Malt label, and a notch above the usual Asian macro lagers.

Good, but only in context.

Thanks to Ina for bringing this from Manila.

Pours a clear gold with a 1 inch foamy bone colored head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small patches of lace form randomly around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of grain and some sticky sugar-like aromas. Taste is of grain, sugar, light fruit, and some slight herbal and almost plastic-like flavors on the finish. There is a mild bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is somewhat poor beer with some slightly off flavors that really doesn't do much for me.

Saw a single bottle of this and thought I'd take a gamble and try it out. I've always thought the dark lager was pleasant enough, if undistinguished. This beer, on the other hand, is not nearly as drinkable. It pours a relatively pale golden with a head that fades quite a bit right away but leaves a thin cap behind, but no lacing. The aroma has a bit of bitter, leafy hops to it, but underlying that is a corny sweetness that robs the hops of their notes. The taste is the same story- lots of corny sweetness with an overlay of some bitter hops that are overwhelmed by the adjunct flavors. Too smooth in the mouth, lacks crispness. Oh well, I'll stick with the dark if I ever have this brand again.

Pours a light golden color with a one-finger head into my glass. A little funnel effect takes place from the overall pour. Very fun to watch.

Plenty of pale, bready malt upfront in the nose. Perhaps a bit of "corn" essence but nothing that bad.

Taste is flat with hardly anything for the taste buds to latch onto. Granted, it's still there but in a diminished capacity.

Ditto for mouthfeel. Watery.

This had so much more potential. They would benefit by strengthening the malt bill. Ah, who am I kidding? This is San Miguel.

Consumed 2/22 in Makati City
Poured in to a stange

A: This beer pours a light golden color with a one inch of bubbly head that recedes quickly. Not much lacing to speak of.

S: Nose is grain, grass, and light malts.

T: Taste is predominantly grain and grass in the forefront. A bit of breadiness before moving in to a light malt finish.

M: Lighter side of medium body, medium carbonation, light crisp feel.

O: Goes does alright, mediocre tasting, not filling, light kick, ok representation of style. My second beer here in PHP and this was a drastic improvement on the first!

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a pilsner glass.

A: A fairly vigorous pour yields a bubbly off-white head of 3 fingers which rapidly forms large bubbles and recedes to an ever fading cap of foam. There is the mildest, spotty lacing. The beer itself is a clear golden-straw color.

S: The smell is faint, mellow malt and corn. A little bit of sweetness as well.

T: Very light. There is a slight bitterness but not from hops; It's more like the bite from poorly hidden but low potency alcohol. I can *sort of* make out a citrus note. Mild malts and corn from the smell round out the rest of the flavor.

M: Very thin and light. Watery. Would prefer a little more carbonation.

O: Not much to say, an unimpressive beer. Fairly drinkable but some mild off flavors make it less so.

Drank this beer in the PI. It was only about 7 dollars per case delivered to the door. Had to rub the rust off the top of each bottle with a towel but after that the beer overall was good. Not too carbonated, but some skunkieness could be tasted, the colder the better. Similar to Corona. Alcohol inconsistant. You could drink 10 and be fine, the next 2 could put you down.

Less than $8 a six pack at The Liquor Shed.

It doesn't pour that pale; it looks an attractive gold with a small and shrinking head of foam leaving some decent lacing behind.

It smells grainy with corn, some sweet notes and a light bitterness.

The taste is grainy and the corn is strong, the little bitterness I got in the smell is even less noticeable in the taste and it's pretty much hard to put into words describing it. Just an uneventful bitter that doesn't do much for the beer.

Usual light body for the style...not really a German Pilsner in my book, with fairly low carbonation. I don't find it easy drinking because of the disappointing flavours I'm getting.
