Appearance – A lacing bee-bop head over a light yellow body.

Smell – Very faint smell of grain, otherwise not too much to report in the nose department.

Taste – There’s a deeper flavor to this one than I expected. I can taste a respectable attempt at hops, and the beer is somewhat dry. The lame sweetness at the finish though leaves a funky aftertaste. I don’t know what it is. I picked a pear too early from a tree last year and it tasted similar. Unripe fruit, maybe?

Mouthfeel – I like the carbonation level here. It helps make this beer refreshing.

Drinkability – If it wasn’t for the aftertaste I’d almost think about shucking out a few bucks for a six-pack, but this one just barely missed the mark.

Presentation: 11.2 fl. oz. short and fat custom brown bottle. No freshness date.

Appearance: Pale yellow with large carbonation bubbles, which bring on a foamy head that quickly falls to a whispy white lace head.

Smell: Pretty clean in the aroma. Not much to report other than extremely faint grain and hop smells.

Taste: Not an overly malty brew, but a light even malt sweetness is present. Fairly smooth with some coarseness on the palate and a crisp light body. Seltzer water sharp with a tight carbonation, metallic, light citrus hop flavours and a bit of a diluted salt-like sting that dries the palate. Finishes dry with grain husk flavours and metal coating the tongue.

Notes: San Miguel was first brewed in the yeat 1890 under Spanish Royal Grant. It's a 5% abv beer and an enjoyable Premium Lager. Not overly exciting mind you, but I found it very refreshing.

12 oz stubby brown bottle with no freshness date. Bright filtered clarity with a lean wispy white lace. Very pale in colour.

Grainy aroma with sweet corn and a very faint hop in the back.

Lacks in crispness with a moderate carbonation, a sufficient hop bitterness is spicy in a bland way and the same goes for the malt. Faded twang of grain and hop in the finish. Not much to taste but a one sided hop and malt mix.

Weird, this brew taste like Mexican beer. Not horrible but not good either, to be generous I’d say average. If you want average give this beer a try.

Pale clear yellow, nice 1/4 inch head that seems a little adjunct in quality but is somewhat more persistent. Very little aroma, a slight sense of skunk oil but not hugely annoying. Taste is very reserved, light corn syrup with very little hop distinction. A little grainy across the tongue. Not as unsettling at the close as some macros -- still this beer was somewhat of a bummer in that I'm a fan of the San Miguel Cerveza Negra.

Pours a thin white head over a light golden body. Aroma of corn adjunct, but otherwise fairly clean. Flavor is similarly noted for a bit of adjunct, and a moderate hop bitterness. Slightly sweet. Lean body. Crisp finsih.

A fairly common beer throughout SE Asia and parts of South Asia. In parts of Nepal it was about all that was available. In such cases it's all right, but I wouldn't grab one otherwise.

On-tap at a few places throughout Barcelona.

Pours a clear straw color with a one-finger white head. The head recedes into a wispy layer on top leaving light lacing.

Smells of pilsner malts with good amounts adjunct sweetness. While still cold mild amounts of earthy hops temper the sweetness a bit however they fade as it warms.

Tastes a bit better than it smells. Pilsner malts and sweet adjunct flavors kick things off however the adjuncts don't have quite as much influence as they did in the nose. Midway through the sip earthy hop flavors make a brief appearance, carrying through to a mildly bitter ending.

Mouthfeel is OK. It's a bit on the thin side with prickly carbonation.

Drinkability is also OK. I finished my glass without any problems however I'm not sure about another.

Overall this was far from a good beer but I think it can make the argument that it's average, especially for the style.

Average lager, OK bitterness, but nothing really happening to warrant a high rating, nice to drink when the temp is up, otherwise give it a miss.

If anyone ever asked me to describe a stereotypical beer, this is exactly what I would describe. There is absolutely nothing discernible about this beer that makes it any better than anything I've ever had, though there's nothing terrible about it that makes it any worse. There's very little smell, very little flavor, it tastes fine, and many can be had in a sitting because it's so light. Needless to say, I'm still going to try to do a decent review, though it's quarter of 4:00 in the morning and I'm exhausted.

I poured the San Miguel from the ugly 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass. The brew pours a transparent golden hue with rising bubbles into a frothy head. The head quickly dissipates with moderate lacing.

The only smell I could possibly tell straight off the bat was that of corn. I figured that would make it taste poorly, but it really didn't affect the taste of my beer too much (though I see it did in others). Other than that, there's very little aroma to this, not much of a malt smell, not much of a hop smell, though both are certainly present.

It tastes like an American light beer. This is one of those beers I tried just to say I've had beer from the Philippines, but this beer is just so mediocre tasting that I don't suppose I'll try any more. There is very little differentiating flavor between this and the plethora of other lagers I've ever had. Maybe a bit sweeter, but nothing noticeable.

The mouthfeel is average (as is everything else about this beer). Very light feel and had I not known it was San Miguel, I would have mistaken it for Miller Lite. There was actually quite a bit of carbonation which I found slightly unappealing, but nothing that really hampers the overall brew.

I'll give it credit - it IS a very drinkable beer if you're seeking mediocrity. For a 5.0% abv just to drink and get drunk off of, I may suggest this (especially for how inexpensive I purchased it). As a college student, I may suggest this to my friends just so they can sound pretentious ("I'm drinking Filipino beer!") while getting wasted for the $1.59 or whatever-it-was-per-single at the local wine cellar. If you're a fan of American lagers and want something a bit more "fancy" (is that the word I'm using to describe this?), I definitely suggest trying this beer out.

355ml squat bottle.

This beer pours a clear pale golden hue, with one finger of soapy white head, which leaves a patchy wall of lace around the glass as it settles. It smells of bready pale malt, and nail polish remover. The taste is sweeter pale malt, a bit of generic fruitiness, and more acetone. The carbonation is fairly low, the body a skinny medium weight, and clingy. It finishes off-dry, a bit of medicinal alcohol sweetness standing out.

Not enough core ingredients to hide the booze. I wouldn't recommend this, at least when consumed half a world away from its origin.

A crystal-clear yellow-gold body is topped by a creamy head of bright white foam that settles into a decent collar and leaves some nice but transient lace. The nose is clean and welcoming with a pleasant combination of grainy malt and grassy hops. It's gently crisp and refreshing with a medium/light body and delicate, somewhat restrained carbonation. The flavor expresses everything that the aroma suggests with a bit more depth; nicely balanced by a distinct but mild-mannered bitterness that leads into a short and dry finish. Well brewed!

San Miguel is another base American Adjuct Lager that offers a slightly below taste than othe standard macros. The color is golden clear with decent carbonation that forms a head that dissapates quickly. The smell and taste are powered by grain. Mouthfeel is fine especially for warmer days. Overall....eh.
