I've carried to the curb four orders during Covid (all more than $50) over the last six months. Since I found Beermiscuous late, I have not experienced their cafe' setting or their 18 brews on tap. But, I do know they have a good selection.
In fact, Beermiscuous is my go-to when I want to catchup quickly on Chicagoland's newest brewers and newest releases. I typically will get three new brewers... which is quite a good haul given that they have less than 400 brews and a superstore like Binny's can have 2,000 and I am lucky to walk away two new brewers.
The concept of Beermiscuous is good for someone like me who tries too many beers once.
I look forward to having a tap there this year and I will update this review.

The name is fun, is it throwing me off? Nope! Didn't think so! (Couldn't resist) The vibe is part coffee shop part old world laboratory, nice to have a place that isn't super loud for a pre-date drink stop. The selection has improved mightily over the years, not a frequent visitor so it has been noticeable: tap list well curated, bottles and cans have all kinds of options especially from Chicagoland but even has good imports too. Laptop warriors proclaim this is a chill option to have a pint either to work or play

Definitely one of my go to places in the city. Staff is great. Very knowledgeable about beer. Selection is fantastic and they will listen to customers suggestions to bring in new stuff. Can't say enough good things. I work remotely from here, grab a beer with my wife here, and meet out buddies to try new beers. Check it out!

In on a snowy day in March. Great selection of both tap and retail bottles/cans. Nice, relaxed vibe. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Looking forward to another visit.

Came across this place years ago but just visited recently. Great vibe, service, and selection. Fusion between a tap room and a retail space, although as others have noted, not cheap if you're buying a lot of beer. Fun place to hang, try new beers with smaller portions, and graze around the edges. Only bummer was getting a 3 month old beer that had clearly seen better days and had lost much of its original hop presence. But great space and will be back.

Beermiscuous has a nice, relaxed vibe, and very friendly staff. There are plenty of high-quality beers on tap and in the coolers. However, don't think of this as a place to stock up, as the bottle/can prices are about double what you pay in the liquor stores. It's really for drinking on-site.

2022: Service has improved, the singles selection can't be beat for locals, and there are always rotating seasonals.
2018:
Got a few old singles, be sure to check dates on what you plan to buy. Majority of their selection is in singles, which is a big plus for trying new stuff. Service was by the numbers, though it wasn’t busy. Dull food court cafe atmosphere. Selection has some occasional gems, but there are far better options in town for beer bars. Green Lady is less than a mile up the street, and Delilahs is around the corner. Retail is their strong suit here.
2017:
Went during the day when it was less crowded and it was a better experience. Solid selection, and all singles is a great way to try new beers. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will return when in the area again.
2015:
Kind of an odd place, I was expecting the beer cafe and shop concept, but not the supermarket checkout line right in the middle of the place. The physical footprint of the space is sort of odd on its own, as it's located near a diagonal corner.
Atmosphere was a little sterile, though fairly crowded on a weekend night. A few tables up front with more in back, no actual bar or bar seating. Bright lights, coolers along the walls with beers arranged alphabetically by brewer. Cluttered boxes stacked on top of the coolers, taps listed on a side wall facing the register, which weren't very apparent when you walk in. Tap selection skewed towards local and newer breweries.
Bonus points for offering beers cheaper to go, though I'm not sure I'd hang out here just to drink a beer intentionally. Would return if visiting other beer bars nearby (Delilah's, Paddy Longs, etc.), but probably wouldn't make it a destination on its own. Far smaller selection than most local beer stores/bars if you're visiting from out of town, still a respectable one considering space limitations.

Stopped by Beermiscuous the other day and it was such the perfect location for appreciating good beer and hanging out to relax. The cafe style means there are couches and tables to sit with friends or do some work. Their bottle selection is good, though understandably centered on Midwest beers. Their draught selection is phenomenal though with more than 12 real stand-out beers on tap. Great for a weeknight to catch up with a friend and relax...highly recommend!

Very happy to have Beermiscuous in my neighborhood. Be aware that the Beer Advocate listing is incorrect: this is both a bar AND a store -- you can take beer to go as well. Everything is available as a single so you can mix and match your own six-pack.
12 beers on draft and over 350 bottles and cans. Their beerista told me they have the largest selection of local Chicago beer of any bar in the city. Over 30 local breweries and 130 different local beers at any given time.
So obviously, a great place to sample a variety of beers. And an excellent place to hang out. Very laid back vibe, more like a coffee shop than a bar. I've worked on my laptop from Beermiscuous during the day, taken dates there in the evening, and used the basement party space for a birthday party.
