12 oz. can poured into a pint glass. very cool design.

translucent copper and abundant foam. not surprising given the serving type. i didn't get much lacing or decent head retention, but the initial pour was nice.

smells of grapefruit, orange peel, caramel and earth.

surprisingly good taste from a can. a chewy essence of the smells come to life. forest tree sap with a bitter finish.

medium to full-bodied, slightly oily, and resiny.

new england brewing co. boasts, "drink it, it's good." they weren't kidding.

bartender, i'll have another.

Rating again (see above) after many years. Whether or not the rumors of a revamped recipe are true is irrelevant. Perhaps my palate changed. All I know is that I'm finding this to be a truly enjoyable IPA. IMHO, it tastes like a subdued version of Gandhi, which is high praise if you enjoy that one better. The Hag is in full effect featuring prominent floral notes up front, with a bit more subdued citrus qualities on the back end. Extremely balanced with plenty of olfactory sensory to satisfy the purist; hints of mango, peach, and vermilion orange. The thing I notice most is the complete balance, overall. While there are many rewarding features of the type of IPA that I crave, nothing overtakes the other to the detriment of the finished product. This is a f**king winner, my friends. Wow. Current BA score does not do it one bit of justice. Seek, drink, and enjoy. LARRRRRRGE!

I used to hate this beer but they changed the recipe to make it drier and hoppier bittering flavor and aroma now it is my most frequently consumed beer

Strong citrus and floral notes. Tastes of grapefruit, bready, pine resin. Light body and medium carbonation. Pine resin and sweet malts on the palate.

Just had my first can of Sea Hag in a couple of years. Was pleasantly surprised at the difference compared to my first taste two years ago. With the smell of Grapefruit, the right balance of bitterness, this version reminds me slightly of G-Bot but is MUCH EASIER to buy from my local store. this batch was canned two days ago so it doesn't get much fresher. NEBCO ROCKS!
