Picked up a growler and a few bottles right from the brewery. Great work on the new label, rofl.
Pours black. 1 1/2 fingers of light brown head that receded quickly to a nice ring on the edge. Lacing is sticky and spotty.
There are lots of roasted malts on the forefront of the nose. Nice hints of dark chocolate and some dark fruits too.
This is easily one of the best stouts that I've had. Great amount of malt sweetness. Roasted malts and a coffee flavor come in an bitter it up. A hint of raisins helps finish out the slightly bitter hoppiness in the end.
Full bodied, viscous, thick. Very nice feel for a stout.
The drinkability is very high. I split the growler between myself and family on Christmas. Each one that tried it, loved it. From a fellow craft beer enthusiast(brother), to a regular drinker/borderline alchoholic(father), and someone that hardly ever drinks beer(Bro's GF).. it was a hit.
Serving type: growler
